Post Superbowl Mock

This is my first attempt at a mock this year.

Chiefs Picks

1. Eric Berry, Safety, Tennessee - Best player in the draft falls to us at 5.

2a. Terrance "Mount" Cody, NT, Alabama - 370 lbs will be in 350 range at combine. Slides to 2nd round. Just what the Chiefs need is a NT that eats blockers.

2b. Daryl Washington, ILB, TCU - Chiefs upgrade the speed at linebacker.

3. Lagarrette Blount, RB, Oregon - Teams with Charles for a good 1 2 punch.

4. Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan, A big, strong QB with a good, not great arm and more touch than Cassel will carry clipboard for a year then challenge for starter.

5a. Eric Olson, Center, ND, should start season at center

5b. Denario Alexander, WR, MU. Many have Barnes out of Bowling Green here lately, but I saw a lot more of Alexander play a lot more. He needs to work on routes, but he's reliable and is a big target.

5c. O'Brian Schofield, OLB Wisconsin - Schofield probably would've gone higher had he not been injured Senior bowl week. Schofield when healthy takes Vrabel's spot.

My 0.2 No probelms with 1, 2a, 3, 4 and 5b.

Daryl Washington is a bit undersized to play ILB in a 34.
Eric Olson isn't that good. If you want a center to start this season I think you have to go with Pouncey. The other guys are projects.

Schoefield - it sucks that he got hurt, but I'd rather take someone healthy.

You are correct. I thought he was bigger than what he is listed at. KC needs more of a 220+lb N/S runner.

I don't think we spend a the second round draft pick it would take to get Pouncey. Nothing against him, I think he's a great player. I just don't see the Chiefs taking him in the 2nd.

I think the chiefs take a RB somewhere in rounds 3-5. Take your pick who you like. I know they seemed to like Blount at the Senior bowl, maybe they take him.

Washington, although light, has the frame to add weight. He's very active, and a sure tackler.

I really like the mock aside from the McKnight pick.

I do as well except that I would take Graham, Kindle or Hughes at 2a and a NT with the 3 pick(Cam Thomas) instead of McKnight... and change the 5c pick out for BAA

Maybe even pick up Al Woods in the 7th or as a FA... can't have enough LSU D linemen...

Graham and Kindle will be gone by 2A, IMO. Thomas may be there at 3, but if he has a good combine and shows he can handle a weight of 340, he'll be a second round pick.

I like Spikes in the 2nd. He's got some heart to go with a lot of upside potential.

This is a very solid mock. I think all the picks are good except taking Blount. Has everyone forgotten about Toby Gerhart?? He will be much better than Blount because there are no character issues and he should have been the one lifting up the Heisman Trophy!!

Thanks but Gerhart projects as a fullback in the NFL according to most scouts. Don't think we need him.
