Chiefs lost on the road at Indy.

Wow. What a freaking surprise. In other news, the Chiefsplanet board melted down on trying to figure out who the biggest goat was.

First, flame away...that's fine. But, Cassel didn't lose this game for the Chiefs. Cassel didn't have much of an opportunity to lose this game.

The 4th and two on the first drive was stupid. The on sides kick was stupid, and poorly executed.

Now, lets move on. The Chiefs didn't push the ball down the field much. They were worried about Freeney and Mathis.

The Chiefs played scared. No real imagination.

They were worried about the Colts on the road, and it showed. They should have taken some shots down field.

Then, maybe we could have hung this loss on Cassel.

As it is, I put in on Haley. Not to say that I don't want Haley, or think he is a bad coach....just realize that he clearly thought the Chiefs were outclassed. He should be encouraged that the Chiefs played with the Colts the entire game. And, had a few things bounced their way, the Chiefs are winning that game.

Why not?! We take a young and incomplete team to paly on the turf of a perenial SB contender manned by possibly the best QB ever and snakebitten be last week's loss and we give them a toe to toe dance until the last few minutes. The Colts had every reason and incentive to roll us all over the field and kick our ass royally. Frankly I was gonna be satisfied with a respectable loss. I privately dreaded a route that would set beck our developement by weeks. I got what I expected even though by halftime I was raising my expectations.

Because when you dominate Peyton Manning, you usually expect to win the game. We were totally the better football team out there today. One player screwed it up for us. Two if you count Bowe. That's not right to be so damn close to being a GREAT team in this league and you get held back by reeruns

Obviously we didn't dominate him enough. Manning has made a career out of late 4th quarter comebacks. This was no different.

Ya think maybe the reason we don't take shots down the field is because we have Cassel as our QB?

We have running backs getting 6 ypc causing the Defenses we play to focus on that and we STILL can't open up our passing game.

Cassel sucks. End of story.

The ****hole doesn't give us a chance to win either. Average wins this game, he isn't even average.

There are some coaching decisions that were questionable.

But the fact is that Manning giftwrapped the game at multiple points in time and Cassel failed to execute the easy stuff. It's not like they were asking him to throw 20 yards downfield. He was off the mark on 5 yard passes. How can you not be accurate throwing within 10 yards.

When the most important person on your team doesn't make plays on the road against a bad defense, you have to shit on the guy's face for losing it for them.

Honestly I didn't see as much inacuracy as you claim. In fact he had a few nice passes that you are not giving him credit for. This loss was not on Cassel's shoulders and not even Bowe's. It was stupid playcalling at inopportunr times. Case in point the stupid pitch-back to Jones when we were all but ready to go in for a TD (a call more suited to Jamaal's talents) . Later in the game, I believe we needed a few yards for a first down and we send Jamaal up the middle for nothing. There were a few other of headscratchers in Weis's playcalling today. But these two stick to mind.

The Chiefs HAD to play scared and with no imagination because they have a $63 million starting QB with the arm strength of an 8th grader who can't throw the ball downfield.

Haley obviously had every intention of playing aggressive football today (see the onside kick to start the game, see going for it on fourth down on the opening drive)... but if you have a starting QB who can't pass the ball downfield... how can you play with any creativity on offense?
