Any decent free agents left?

So we lost a few guys even just today that I think quite a few people were hoping we'd sign - Ryan Harris, Franklin, Warren, etc.. I scrounged to come up with a few names that are left at positions of need for us but there doesn't seem to be much left over that would help us out -

NT - Pat Williams? He's 38 but could at least be depth since all we have is Gregg and Powe

OT - Gaither, Max Starks, Flozell Adams, Bryant McKinnie? Most of these guys are either hurt or showed up to camp out of shape and were cut

ILB - Channing Crowder, Lofa Tatupu, Kirk Morrison. Crowder and Morrision would be quality signs...Tatupu was hurt and supposedly has lost a step.

OLB - Matt Roth. Close to signing with the Bears though....

DE - Drawing a blank here....Warren was the last guy I thought would make an impact

WR - Still some quality with Malcolm Floyd, Mike Williams and Braylon Edwards. Not sure WR is a large priority for us anymore

RB - Michael Bush and McClain are still out there I think. I'd take either to replace Thomas Jones.

That's it unless there's someone I'm overlooking? I think we're out of luck on any further Oline or Dline help. Still possible to get a decent middle linebacker unless we're standing pat after the Siler signing. Wouldn't mind picking up one of those two RBs either....

Flozell Adams came in and played RT for the Steelers last year and did fairly well. He'd be an upgrade over Richardson at this point.

Matt Roth would be a good signing. I would love to have Michael Bush. I doubt any of those guys get signed by us though.

Why the hate for Richardson? Did you watch the games last season? Do you know what his #'s were? 9 penalties in 16 starts only 2 holding calls and only 5 sacks allowed. Did you notice how many TD's Cassel threw for and how many yards the running game gained with Richardson playing? But a guy that started his FIRST 16 game season in the NFL you want to kick him to the curb, when the Chiefs are trying to develop young talent from within.

I don't hate the guy. I just don't think he is a complete football player.

He is pretty one dimensional. Solid run blocker, but as a pass protector he has his share of struggles against the speed rushers.

I disagree.

Richardson has the tools to be an elite pass protector, and if you watched closely, there were plays when he looked like the best RT in the game.

His problem is, and always has been, focus.

If he could maintain his focus and give full effort each and every play, he would lock down the position for the next 10 years.

We need to bring in a starter quality RT to compete, because you can not rely on Richardson to maintain any consistency unless you can find a way to keep him focused.

Thats his problem he lacks discipline. If he had that, I'd be pretty content with him. His problem is more mental than anything. For me, as a fan, it bothers me to see inconsistent performances from players. But nothing is more frustrating than seeing inconsistent performances from offensive lineman.

If a player wants to be successful, he has to perform on a consistent basis. Anything less is unacceptable imo. If he is inconsistent, it pretty much defines him as a failure. There were times when he played well, and then there were times when he really sucked. What bothered me was that he sucked as the season went on. That shouldn't happen. It should be the opposite.

I can understand he is a young football player. I also understand football is a physical game, and as the season goes on, one's own body can wear down.
But if his issue is losing focus as the season goes on, to me thats a bad sign. It shows that he lacks mental toughness. He can have all the technique and tools in the world to be an all-pro, but, if he doesn't have it mentally, then thats a real problem imo.

I'll root for the guy and I sure hope he can develop into a good one. We'll see. Only time will tell.

Solid, fact-based argument. Still not sure what to make of Barry Richardson, but leaning towards...LIKE.

We for sure need a vet #2 QB for the entire season. Cut Palko and sign one.

Always could use more depth on the lines and at LB in a 3-4.

Pioli said the other day they were still looking at WR.

Some may want to push Thomas Jones out the door but I don't see it happening. To much man love from Haley.

Why do we need a washed up, never gonna be, backup vet QB?

I think we are going to be fine at WR.

Bowe, Baldwin, Breaston and Copper is a good 4 WR set.

I hear McCluster is getting time in at WR during camp as well so those reports about him sticking to RB and ST may have been overblown.

When I was there Sunday (admittedly, very small sample size), he was working with the RBs.
