It's 2am...Direckshun, let's talk football
Dude, I think we could go deep in the playoffs. Really deep. I think the Pats could be a good matchup for us, and we could get past them. I also think a huge in-season statement game will be beating the pats on MNF. So if we ended with the 3rd seed, in theory I think we'd get a team like the Jags, Houston, Jets or Ravens. Maybe Chargers. We could beat these guys, take the Pats out, then it's just maybe Pit or Bal standing in our way.
I have a new found confidence in Cassel. I think he'll being himself to a top performance in the playoffs this year after easily winning the AFC West. (I doubt SD, Oak, Or Den go more than 8-8). |

And I understand in the playoffs it's top QB survives.
Let's look at us Vs NYJ. I bet my organs Cassel outduels Sanchez. When Baldwin plays up to expectations, there's no way a team like the Jets will beat us. |

I heard an interesting theory about Justin Houston's holdout. If his agent knows that he would fail another drug test after he signed, that might explain why his agent wouldn't want him to sign yet.

That's exactly what I was just telling somebody earlier. Bet he's dirty, was counting on the lockout lasting longer and he's trying to flush right now. Perhaps the same reasoning with all the unsigned 7th rounders. ****ing Junkies.

I'm just going to say it's money, he wants 1st round money but the Chiefs are holding out for where he was drafted. As a result, however, he's killing any chance he might have been a productive guy in 2011. Basically, he's going to be a rookie for the next two years if he misses much more of this training camp. |

But you know potheads, right? They put everything off. So and so said the lockout might not be over untill mid august. I can have this weed out of my system by then and still smoke untill late july. Oh shit, oops, you want me to sign today? Hold up... |

Pittsburgh.
James Harrison is right. Ben thinks he's Peyton Manning. He's not. That's why we'll beat them. I think our O should hold it's own, and I see nothing that indicates Ruthlessraper can beat our D with his current level of play. Tamba will **** his world up all the to a fumble recovery TD. |

Slow your roll.
I'm really bullish on Cassel. I think the biggest steps he's taken in the past offseason wasn't psychical, it wasn't anything he did in drills, it wasn't any weight lifting or any time he spent with Baldwin or what. Those things all helped. I think the biggest step forward he's taken has been psychological. Vrabel's gone, Waters is gone. He's the cock of the walk, so to speak. He took initiative all offseason. He rode the tide of goodwill from a playoff berth and a Pro Bowl appearance. He got ~40 of his teammates to show up for absolutely zero money and he alone conducted the practice. This is no longer nominally his team. It is now his team on every level a QB can have a team this early in the game. And it's the first time he's ever experienced this. I've played sports all my life and I cannot overstate how importance this gigantic this gain is psychologically. Add Zorn in to work specifically with him, give him three huge targets and a savvy vet in the slot, and an All Pro running back, and you've got really special potential for this guy. I don't know if that will show up in the win column, but I don't think we're going to see any more sub-100 yard games from Cassel. No more disasters, just rough games, good games, and very good games. And that's a very important step forward for him, and this franchise by extension. I'm saying 9-7 is what this team should shoot for with all the youth and the stalled development thanks to the lockout. I've started countless threads on this, but there may be no team better built for the next ten years based on the past two years than the Chiefs. But the immediate success? Be patient, is all I'm saying. |

Well, get ready to crown him then. When Cassel shows he's thew guy Scott wants him to be, we're every bit as good as the top AFC teams. And I think that time could be now. |

When I look at the schedule, consider the lockout, and how prepared each team wl be in light of it, I don't conclude that "this is our schedule." I conclude the exact opposite. I'm not concerned with the talent of other teams. On paper, we are every bit as talented as nearly all of the teams we'll face this season. The problem is, we're facing a ton of veteran teams whose leaders are experienced vets. Our talent is young, and still developing, and stalled by the lockout. Teams like the Chiefs are exactly the kinds of teams that will be regressing this year. |

You cant be a goood team without beating good teams. You cant beat good teams until you play them, and learn what it takes. We did'nt really get too many chances last season to do that....This season we find out if we will, or can grow into a good team. Period.

Maybe I'm understating the nature of the NFL. I think the Vets will get screwed by the lockout. Get lazy, lose their rhythm. The young teams could use their finesse to over-excel against older, tired teams.
