From what I heard Will himself turned down Neo in The Matrix to do Wild Wild West.

I actually saw on the DVD-on TV on AMC that Corey Hart (I wear my sunglasses at night) was originally cast as Marty McFly.

Never heard that one? Stoltz actually filmed scenes for about a month or so. You can see a few on one of the DVD sets or google his pics.

Pretty sure Chevy turned down Lester Burnham in American Beauty as well. The version I heard was he didn't think he was up to either of the roles (Gump or Burnham) which I actually really respect if true. Not many actors would turn down roles because they realize they aren't good enough.
