He is going to have a miserable year. Crennel said Jackson will have a great year if he does what Crennel wants. Which translates to failing to meet the uninformed expectations of the fanbase.

Therefore we will hear "bust", etc..

Houston and Hali can get to the QB & T Jack and Dorsey have there roles to help shut down the run & allow Houston and Hali get to the QB. IMO that's what those guys are good for.

But that would mean this defense has a 5 man pass rush. Which is lame.

You guys need to come to terms with the players on this DL. They blow. Jackson is the better of them, has improved techniques, but he is underwhelming so far.

JFC they just got blown out by the ****ing Rams. 14 points on this starting defense in a matter of minutes.

The Rams. The ****ing Rams.

This brings visions of Mora yelling "playoffs, you're talking about the playoffs."

IMO, Fisher needed something under his belt and threw alot more into this preseason game than we did. Nothing more, nothing less.

Also to pin 14 on the defense isn't really fair, Baldwins fumble put them right back on the field after getting shell shocked in bad field position.

Oh I most agree. I want to see Tyson Jackson & Glenn Dorsey getting to the QB, lol, but that's not what they are good at. As in what I said in my first post. That is sad but true. We do need to get sack production out of them & increase our disruption in the backfield with those guys for our D to become great D.

But this would mean.....gulp....we're gonna need to draft more defensive linemen soon.

Perhaps, but this team is new and it will take years to develop at key positions like the DL. They need a guy that can plug lanes and can move faster than most QB's to play that RDE position, that is going to be the game changer for this defense.

They might have their guy in Poe. I know he will eventually slide into the NT position, but they desperately need production from that RDE position or teams are going to continue to sit back and pick this defense apart.

With just that one guy there, now the pass rush can be either a base 3 rush or a blitz using ROLB Hali for stunts and twists with the RDE.

The other two positions on the DL are critical in pressure, but not as critical as the blindside RDE position. That is where you get your action from, is that RDE position. You get a guy in there that can be disruptive on his own from that RDE position and this defense suddenly becomes nasty to handle.

Jackson is in the top five of all 5 tech DTs drafted in the top 3 in the last five years. Haters can suck it.

Don't you want your # 3 overall to dominate?

That was a crappy draft class. Everyone wants their top 3 to dominate but the truth is people are unrealistic about draft picks. Look at Jason Smith, the OT from Baylor who was taken right before Jackson. He has been beaten out by Barry Richardson this year.

Drafting a 3-4 DE in the top 5 is like drafing a punter in the 1st round.

It's ****ing stupid no matter how good they are.

It's just ****ing stupid. Always will be...
