Pocket knives
I have had this pocket knife for around 10 years now, it's getting a little worn, blades / attachments don't go back into place like they should. It's still serviceable, I just fixed the closet door knob with it.

So I might be in the market for a new pocket knife, what do you pack? I like a sharp blade, something I can drive a screw with or punch a new hole in a belt if need be, something not too big and fits in my pocket. What are you pack'n or like in a pocket knife?

Screw the multi tool crap. Just get a knife.

I buy discontinued styles of Kershaw knives off Cabela's bargain cave. They're usually $10-15. That's been the best steel for the money I can find.

Im pretty hard on them. I usually break them or lose them once a year so I keep a few spares.

I have a nice SOG multi-tool that stays on my belt and a Benchmade with an assisted opening blade that I keep clipped to my pocket. I've owned a lot of knives, Case, Buck, Old Timer, etc and this Benchmade is the best of the bunch.

I buy Gerber pocket knives..love them..hold an edge good and can sharpen back easily if you know what you are doing

What's your go to for sharpening your knife, do you use a stone and oil, 35-40 degree angle?

Do you use 3 and 1 oil? I wasn't sure on the degree, I have someone where I work that does mine with one of those ceramic poll deals, touch the blade when he's done, your sure to get cut.

You can use about any degree as long as it's reasonable..The main thing is maintaining the same angle..I know guys who do 10 and others who do 30..I stay around 20 on mine

As far as oil I use a mineral oil..I think it's called Norton Knife sharpening oil..or something along those lines..I have read you don't need oil that if you have a good stone you will be fine..I grew up using oil on mine so it's just what I prefer..I have seen people use water and even spit..so it's however you prefer to do it
