Royals Fan refurbishes I-70 Royals baseball emblem out of his own pocket

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Shawn Arcidino says he noticed a few weeks ago that the Royals baseball and symbol on the side of the hill as you drive down I-70 just east of Downtown wasn’t looking its best.

After complaining and trying to find the right person to contact for several weeks, Arcidino grabbed some of his friends and decided to clean it up on his own.

It took $81 and 35 minutes for this team of four to spruce it up. They say it was an easy fix that will make all the difference as fans here in town and from out of town drive by.

“I just got sick of griping about it, and we just fixed it,” said Arcidino.

Five-year-old Jazmyn Jordan missed school Thursday to help with the project. Her dad says he wants her to see that there’s a reason to be proud to be from Kansas City.
