Why no bumping the WR's?

Why do we play such an "aggressive" defense but never bump he WR's? Especially against Manning? We didn't make him ever hold the ball and the one time we did...BAM!

WTF is with Sutton?

Sutton is terrible..... Chiefs radio was all over him for not adjusting.... He is a man to man coach and it will take quite a bit for Reid to fire him.

Idiot.

The Chiefs have the #9 defense in the NFL, and that's after losing two All-Pro's in Berry and Johnson along with one of the best run stopping DE's in DeVito.

He's been working with trash at the ILB and S positions all season long, throwing barely warm bodies at the CB position opposite of Smith and the Chiefs are still the #9 defense in the NFL.

TOP TEN DEFENSE.

And you think he's going to get fired because they lost to Manning?

Idiot.

They held Manning to less than 200 yards. That's pretty good, actually.

I'd find something else to bitch about. Defense is the least of this team's problems.

And this thread is about the DBs...

He had 179 yards on 34 attempts. That's an average of 5.2. That's pretty good pass D, I think. Especially vs Manning.

Context is key here

They didn't ramp up the passing game cause there was little need of it, on account of our front 7 getting it pushed in right up the middle, all, night, long!

4.8 ypc isn't 'getting it pushed in'. That certainly isn't good, but I'd be far more concerned about the offense than this.

Of course, local KC sports radio sparked this lame debate, so I get it.

this

Manning saw no need to throw the ball when running for 200+ yards

If Manning had needed he would have driven the length of the field for the winning touchdown. No doubt.

And the wind was blowing 30 mph.

Chiefs fans need to wake up. The only thing that slowed that offense down was Denver's realization that a 2 score lead was insurmountable for this team.

You could see it in Manning's body language.

They got a lead and ran the ball down our throats. Manning was on cruise control. Why risk Hali or Houston breaking free and stomping on 5head when there was no need.

We sacrifice run defense for pass rush this last offseason and it shows.
