10. I turned 56 today. Every year I add on, I'm frankly surprised I made it this far, considering my stressful job and less than healthy lifestyle. I endeavor to persevere...

9. It's the one day a year I read my horoscope in the paper. Today it told me to be less sarcastic. Yeah, I'm gonna do that, you bet...

8. It's the one day a year your wife lets you do basically whatever you want. I mean that in a variety of ways. She just requests that I tell her when I'm through.

7. Your 20 friends on Facebook all take ten seconds out of their busy lives to wish you a Happy Birthday.

6. Clark Hunt forgot to call me again this year. He must have lost my phone number....

5. I'm one year closer to a senior discount at Golden Corral.

4. The older I get, the more ointments I seem to acquire...

3. No matter how old I get, my good pal Mr. Doggity is always 12 days older.

2. One of my cats left me a nice hairball on the bed this AM. Nothing like a home made birthday present. It comes from the heart. Or is this case, from the digestion tract.

1. I'm hoping Andy Reid can come up with a nice present like the Royals gave me last year....a WINNING playoff run.
