Door to door frozen steak truck guys
WTF is with these guys?!?!
Are there really that many rubes out there buying this junk? Third time this year I've had to tell these shady bastards to hit the bricks. We live in the Midwest dipshits, nobody wants that frozen shit. |

Lmao, my brother did that job for a while. He liked it but I'm guessing the money wasn't good.

Hard to believe there's still a market for door to door salesmen/women. It's been a while since I've seen an Omaha steaks guy driving around in an old beater selling "premium" meat. I figured they had either gone out of business, or finally figured out how to use the internet instead of sending clowns to your door.

It may not have been Omaha. It seems like that's the name they used but it was also a long time ago back when I lived in KC and those guys would come around, so it might have been another company.

Yeah, did that for about a week in the early 90's. Couldn't live with myself knowing that we were charging 5 times what that shit was worth

Those guys are worse than used car salesmen. Never tried their product but, I don't know, there's something shady about a guy trying to push meat out of the back of a truck.

I had a relative that got hooked with the "steak" truck deal once. I was over for dinner and she was telling me what a great deal she got on the steaks. I remember thinking, "oh crap, this won't turn out well." I'm not even convinced it was beef, not only was the taste bad, but it was like trying to cut through a Tony Lama boot to hack a piece off. I thought I was going to break the steak knife or chip a tooth. Needless to say, she learned her lesson and the dogs got the rest of the so called steaks.

Why in the hell would I ever consider buying frozen meet from some slippery Larry, that probably lives in a van down by the river.

They buy wholesale frozen beef in bulk; nobody knows how long it's been frozen.
I mean, most grocery stores have a butcher shop, wth? This latest guy's truck was all decked out in a wrap. Most of the other ones I've seen were just plain white. Protip: If your pitch starts out with "Can ya help me out?", seek another sales job.

I bought frozen steaks once, just to have on hand as a backup. They were terrible, salty as hell. Might be my fault, I kept them in the freezer a long time.
