Restaurants ideas outside of BBQ realm

Alrighty. We're looking at going to Michael Smiths. We were looking at Bluestem, but the price was just out of what we were looking to spend. My boyfriend decided on Michael Smith's because he has received a Michelin star, and the price is just about where we are comfortable spending. Just thought I would see if anyone has eaten there, or if you know of any other restaurants with Michelin star chefs in the area.

I'll second this,it's also my go to place in St. Joe,great menu with numerous selections A-Z.Plus you could easily eat for $30 or less.As for KC locations I'd suggest the Liberty or Zona Rosa ones.

It's better than Applebee's but why drive to KC when Springfield has Applebee's chili's and all the other it tastes the same crap. When I go out to eat I want different.

I used to really like the Liberty location with all the Ford guys drinking their lunch at 8PM!!!!

I always liked drinking there right up with Nick and Jakes especially on drink nights. I seem to like to find smaller, more intimate places to eat that prepare more of their food from scratch. Salad from a bag? No thanks.

The bad thing is that places like that can't compete with 54th and still sell fresh chicken strips and house made poppers when 54th opens a bag and drops them in the fryer with no labor cost.

Personally I can't handle Chili's nor Applebee's but can see where people could compare them with 54 and that neighborhood grill and bar concept.

One thing I know for sure those other places can't even come close to making Gringo Dip.

I remember that stuff. I used to get a side to go on fries when I ate lunch up there...I remember those lunches; burger, fries, and 4 shots of tequila, I don't know how those guys went back to ford and worked. At least they were "skilled" workers and didn't build trucks.
