AJ McCarron
From @NFLTotalAccess: #Bengals QB AJ McCarron, who won his grievance, will suddenly be a free agent... and he becomes an intriguing name. Keep an eye on the #Browns and #Vikings, among others.
This is great news. Glad Veach traded Smith early. That deal looks smarter and smarter all the time!

He’s probably going to be a Brown. Hue Jackson loves him.

Is AJ McCarron worth a damn? Honestly I have no clue, but I can think of at least 3 backups that I'd prefer over him if I were a GM: Foles, Bradford, Bridgewater

I've always had a soft spot for poor Cleveland, and Dorsey would be a damn reerun to not do whatever it took to get Foles... he is no longer a backup, he is the Super Bowl MVP |

Why is he an intriguing name? He's a career backup. I maybe understand the Browns rolling the dice on him but why would the Vikings want him?

I think he definitely would've. It seems like Hue Jackson loves him, and the Browns were reportedly the ones who were in a bidding war with the Redskins, thus why we stole Fuller. I don't buy that crap about Alex getting to choose his destiny, if Cleveland had the best offer, then off to Clevland you go.

Lower it? Maybe.
Hue Jackson and Jay Gruden run the same exact offense, making McCarron a fit. If McCarron had been available prior to the trade, do the Redskins give up a 3rd and Fuller for Smith? I think the compensation would have been different. |
