The Chargers are preseason champs once again!

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...rs/1681106001/

Relevant portion:

Quote:
Los Angeles Chargers (12-4): If they can finally stave off the injury bug — Bosa, TE Hunter Henry and LB Denzel Perryman have their fingers crossed — the Bolts have as much talent as any team, particularly at the skill positions. They're also battle-tested — let's be honest, they basically play in front of a hostile crowd every week — capable of winning in any environment, to include a Super Bowl audience in South Florida on Feb. 2. (And wouldn't it be kinda nice to see Philip Rivers join 2004 draft mates Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger on the championship dais?)

Kansas City Chiefs (11-5): Will an overhauled defense jell quickly? Can league MVP Patrick Mahomes possibly approach the mind-boggling production he managed in his first year as a starter? Are the off-field distractions at an end with the NFL choosing not to suspend WR Tyreek Hill? Lots of questions, though K.C. is equipped to provide correct answers between the lines. Early tests as AFC West champs open with three of four on the road.
He also has the Colts beating the Chiefs in the wild card round.

If you ask me, this Nate Davis guy is a real dipshit dumbass!!!!!!

I’ve honestly never seen a team own another in their division like we do the Chargers and STILL get disrespected by the national media every single year.

Honestly, I felt it was fair before Mahomes. Yes, Alex Smith seemed to always beat them, but the NFL normally comes down to QB play. Until Mahomes became our starter, the majority of NFL commentators would take the Chargers QB over ours going all the way back to whenever the last time Flutie started for the Chargers.

It’s really ridiculous now that we undeniably have the better coach and QB.

Reid and a halfway competent QB has been good for 9 wins every year in KC. Now that he has Mahomes, the floor is probably 11 wins (similar to the Pats with Brady and Belichick).

It would not be preseason without some idiot proclaiming the Chargers division champs.

3 years in a row now they have picked wrong about the Chiefs- and looks like it will be 4 in row. Chiefs have beat the Charges 9 out of 10 and the NFL had to gift them that win.

Look out- the Chargers are battle-tested this year!!! LOL

Rivers looked like the physical cliff is right there as it got later and later last year.

They are definitely stacked at the skill spots, but if he falls off, its probably a 10 win team max.

1. Pretty sure it's "gel," not "jell"

2. "Are the off-field distractions at an end with the NFL choosing not to suspend WR Tyreek Hill?" No more than any other team's propensity to have off-field distractions, including the golden boy Patriots who CONSTANTLY deal with crap like that (deflated footballs... Tom Brady hates Belichick because that's what his Rasputin health guru told him to do... their #1 WR gets busted for PEDs...)

3. "Lots of questions..." You only asked 3 questions. Is that more questions than the Chargers have? How about, "Can Anthony Lynn outcoach his way out of a wet paper bag?" "Can the Chargers finally take all this supposed talent they have surrounding them and make it work for themselves?" "When compared to the offensive skill positions of the Chiefs, can Rivers overcome the deficiency of high-powered weapons he has, especially at TE?"

4. The Chiefs did 3 of the first 4 on the road last year, too. How'd that turn out for them, again? If I remember, that was also supposed to be a rough start, and their playoff hopes depended on them recovering from that difficult 1-3 start they'd be facing!

That's great. Out of twelve playoff teams last year, this person picked six of them to finish below .500. It's hard to be that far off without trying.
