Yes. They set that hole up for players to try it exactly the way Rahm did. It's been made many times.

I'm not saying it's not an impressive shot, but it's certainly not the greatest play in golf history. Not even close, especially considering it being done during practice.

Impressive, but it was a practice round and like RockChalk said, they often try to skip the ball onto the green during those rounds.

Here are two of what are considered some of the greatest shots in golf history.

Larry Mize in a playoff with Greg Norman in the '82 Masters, chips in from 110 feet away.



In the 1982 US Open, Tom Watson was tied with Jack Nicklaus (finished and in the clubhouse) going to the 17th hole. This nearly impossible chip shot gave him a birdie and ultimately the US Open title.

A couple of more.

There is no video of it, but Gene Sarazen's double eagle to go from 3 shots down to a tie in the 1935 Masters is also considered one of the greatest shots in golf.

And then there was Tiger's chip-in on 16 in the 2005 Masters. This is the same hole from the OP.

I'm a shitty golfer so I have not. I have one eagle in my life, a hole out from around 130 yards on a par 4.

I have 1. Father's Day about 10 years ago at Alvamar (Lawrence, KS) on Hole #12.

The hole/course no longer exist, as they completely redid the course a few years ago and renamed it Jayhawk Club.
