Kenny Stills - Cleared Waivers

EDIT: Updated

Not sure what he's looking for, but at a decent price, could be a nice WR3 for the remainder of this season, and/or next season when Sammy & DRob walk. Additional insurance in case Hardman has peaked.

This Year
WR 1: Hill
WR 2: Watkins
WR 3a: Stills
WR 3b: Hardman
WR 4: Robinson
WR 5/ST (IR): Pringle

Next Year
WR 1: Hill
WR 2: FA or Rookie
WR 3a: Stills
WR 3b: Hardman
WR 4: Pringle or Rookie
WR 5: Pringle or Rookie

Show me the 2 people you're going to waive assuming Baler will be put on the active roster eventually.

I'm tired of ALL little WIDE RECEIVERS.

Yes, our system is geared towards quick and smaller WRs but can't we just have one big WR?

Man, I'm right there with you. Talented ones just don't pop up often in FA.

I'd love to snag our own version of DK / AJ / Megatron etc... as it stands, Kelce effectively serves in that role.

Hopefully we can get someone in the draft. In Veach we trust.

I took it to mean he wants a big muhfugga like 6'3, 230lbs with 4.3/4.40 speed. If so, that's what I'd love to have added to this offense.

Beggars can't be choosers.

Stills would most certainly upgrade the current WR room, regardless of whether or not Watson is fully 100%.

I read him listed at 6'0'' and 190 lbs. I'm almost as big as that and I'm not a big guy.

Just look at lot of the contending teams and some of the big bodied and/or tall WR's they have that can help down by the goal line.

Steelers - Claypool
Baltimore - Dez Bryant
Titans - AJ Brown
Bucs - Mike Evans
Ariz - Hopkins
Seattle - Metcalf
Chargers - Allen
Bills - Diggs

Just to name a few off the top of my head.

ESPN has him listed at 6 even, 190. Which might be football measurements, so he could be just 5' 11" and 180.

https://www.pro-football-reference.c...S/StilKe00.htm

This is the most accurate website I've found in terms of height, weight, etc. and they have him as 6'1, 202.

And no, this isn't college football in which they can exaggerate without proof.

His Combine numbers bear that out:

He's 6'1, 202.

If you can find a cheap 6'4 WR with 3,000-4,000 yards under his belt at this point in the season, go for it.

We have a big athletic guy who can catch balls in the red zone. His name is Travis Kelce. It would be nice to have another guy like that, but it’s not exactly a dire need at the moment. If we could find a guy in that mold in the 2nd or 3rd round next draft, I’d be all for it.

In 2018 I said that every draft, I would target the fastest receiver, or any receiver who could run a legit 4.30, who is at least 6'3". Even if he wasn't very good in college, or played at a lower level school, whatever.

There are probably quite a few receivers who can run extremely fast, but don't get looked at because they didn't play in the right offense, or couldn't even dominate lesser opponents, or just can't catch, etc.

Whether we use a 7th round pick, or aggressively target them as an UDFA, I don't care. Because, you can coach someone up in route running, and even catching the ball (See TG leading the league in drops in his second season compared to the rest of his career) but you cannot coach up speed.

You can't take a 4.6 receiver and coach him up to a 4.3 receiver. Not in football. With Mahomes' arm, he is eventually going to make one of these tall, fast, overlooked receivers a superstar.
