When a team drunkenly stumbles into the playoffs like the Bears it's a horrific idea. Hopefully it's not quite this bad from now on.

It won't be the last time. Last year with this format, the Chiefs would have played the 8-8 Steelers with Duck Hodges at QB in the first round.

It's like the NBA, almost half of the teams get in and it dilutes the field. It's more money for the NFL, owners and gambling. Like adding an extra game, it's not necessary.

I agree; maybe they can do something to fix the NFC because there are so many teams which simply don't have a chance and don't belong in the playoffs. It's a shame that Miami at 10-6 had to stay home and it was close to having an 11-5 team miss the playoffs.

Maybe a realignment of the NFC is in order?
