In Resident Evil Biohazard at the end you can choose to either help Mia or Zoe. If you choose Zoe, you end up killing Mia later.
In RE Village Mia is alive and well. Plot hole?

Choosing Zoe is not canon. Kind of lame but helping Mia is the correct choice for lore.
