Chiefs Just haven't been playing very well recently

I'm not very good at making detailed assessments of the teams flaws. Others are better at that, and I'm sure they'll be doing so over the next few days here.

My concern is we just look very flat going into the playoffs, which isn't really the norm for the Chiefs in recent years. Reid and the coaching staff seem to "figure it out" midway or late into the season, and our team starts looking solid and cohesive going into the playoffs. This year just doesn't have that feeling. Very bad football teams are making us look bad and work for these wins, and we look very flawed and average.

We're 13-3, but we really don't feel like it. And we've seen this kind of team before around the league. The one with the impressive looking W-L record, but gets it's teeth knocked out in the first round by a team that has a better gameplan and just wants it more. I don't want that to be us, but it's hard to think otherwise when we come out and play like we have. Dunno what else to say.

We're spoiled as shit as Chiefs fans. We're 13-3 and you'd think we were barely a .500 team reading so many posts around here.

Well that's true, but the Chiefs have not played good football the past 3 out of the last 4 games. The kind of play that will get you beat in the playoffs.

rather get it out now than in the playoffs

but tbh even it we’re one and done or out in the divisional i think we did better than most of us thought we would this year. if we can win a super bowl with this much inexperience on defense and a brand new offensive philosophy it just proves that mahomes is the true GOAT

This.. Division games are tough.. The Raiders game will be a 10 point game or less.. ST mistakes and turnovers need cleaned up and we'll be good..

I dunno. Special Teams have been a problem all season. FG kicking problems and a punt return fumble delivered a pretty big 11 point swing to Denver today. 13 point swing to the Colts earlier in the year. I don’t see them magically fixing those issues in the playoffs.

Mahomes turns those FG’s into TD’s in the playoffs.

Even if that’s true, they still have the fumble problem on kick returns and punt returns. 5 lost fumbles in the return game this season. I would be curious to know where that ranks in the league.

Before we rested starters in week 17, we won 7 games by a total of 27pts. And we were playing some bad teams and allowing everyone to stay in the game.

It’s definitely disappointing but I wouldn’t pretend that we’ve never quite been here before.

I forgot about that season. I think Week 16 was that god-awful Falcons game that we really should've lost. Kinda feels like today.

I guess the difference is we don't have a #1 guy like Tyreek that REALLY shifts the balance in high pressure games like the playoffs.

We do have a more balanced offense, and I'd like to believe that players like JJSS, MVS, Toney, and Pacheco will make a difference, it just looks quite bleak right now.

I was going to bring this up. It seemed like we played like absolute shit at the end of that season, and squeaked past multiple shitty teams by the skin of our teeth. Much like the game today. Eerily similar actually.
