Thompson shows a good ability to throw into tight windows on short and intermediate routes, especially on slant and out routes.

So Hill isn't so far off. Thompson is a QB with elite accuracy that can run and has more than a puncher's chance to take down the PTSD-ridden Bills.

Elite accuracy? He's completing 57% of his passes. And this is what NFL.com listed as his weaknesses:

Below-average accuracy on drive throws.
Over-strides and sails the throw.
Forces receivers to break stride and work for it.
Throws need to come out with better anticipation.

Yeah, sounds like a gem.

Fair points certainly. He has not killed it in his limited playing time to this point, no. But I will point out that he's only started two games to date, and in one of those, he went out with an injury. The three games he played the most in were against the Jets (twice) and the Pats.

Here's something in his favor: he was already 25 when he was drafted. That means a level of maturity and sagacity in his play and preparation that his countpart Josh Allen just doesn't have. Cause Josh Allen, judging only by his behavior, is a 2 year old.

As someone who's watched almost every one of Skylar Thompson's K-State games....

Those stats are skewed a lot by the type of offense K-State runs. Thompson is a talented QB, but come on...

Then I won't have to remind you sir that it was a mere one year and one week ago that Mr. Thompson balled up heavily favored SEC darling LSU in the Texas Bowl to the tune of 21/28 for 3 TDs and 0 INTs, and 259 passing yards. Legend has it that the LSU coach told Thompson after the game that if they had him at QB, they'd be national champions. By legend I mean I just made that up, but that's how legends are made: by being manufactured. Ask Brady.

But it occurs to me that there's no need to spend too much time defending ol' Sky's The Limit Thompson. His play on the field this coming weekend is gonna do plenty of that on its own!
