The Early Years Tournament: Round 1, Heat 6.

Here we go with the next heat. Yet another win over the broncos, and a win over the Cardinals.

2019 - Week 7 - W 30-6 over DEN
https://www.pro-football-reference.c...1910170den.htm
Chiefs 4-2 / Broncos 2-4

This was the kneecap game that terrified every single person in the world and stopped the earth's rotation for a day. I still remember where I was when it happened. In a minor bit of retaliation, the Chiefs beat the hell out of Joe Flacco, recording 8 sacks including a sack and strip touchdown. The team actually recorded 9 sacks since Armani Watts tackled a guy in punt formation in perhaps the worst-designed fake punt ever.

2018 - Week 10 - W 26-14 over ARI
https://www.pro-football-reference.c...1811110kan.htm
Chiefs 8-1 / Cardinals 2-6

This was the early long-distance bombing era where defensive backs shook their heads and shrugged. The first three plays from scrimmage were a 38-yard pass to Tyreek, an incompletion to Tyreek, and a 37 yard touchdown to Tyreek. Those days were fun. The Cardinals held the Chiefs to a low number of offensive plays, but Patrick Mahomes II was very efficient, going 21 of 28 for 249 yards despite taking 5 sacks. Chris Jones led the defense with 2 sacks, 2 batted balls, and a forced fumble as the defense pummeled Josh Rosen with 5 sacks and 2 interceptions. Tyreek also became a cameraman after one of his two touchdowns.

The defense was great in the broncos game, but I'm certain that that game is not my favorite Chiefs win because of one play.

I'll go Cardinals in honor of Chris Jones.

Went Broncos because as traumatizing as the injury was, I'm including the training staff's quick response as part of the win and without that the rest of the season may not have happened how it did.

Denver. It’s part of the streak, was in 2019 so it mattered, and Patrick was ultimately okay. And the team held it together after he left. Was scary at the time but now it’s a testament to a great organization.

Cardinals. Had more plays with Mahomes. The fun TD celebration where Tyreek took over the camera. Offensive fireworks and solid aggressive defense.

When in doubt, beating the Broncos is better.
