Patrick Mahomes Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named the AFC "Offensive Player of the Week" on Wednesday after completing 27-of-34 passes for 298 yards and two touchdowns in the Kansas City Chiefs' victory over Las Vegas last weekend.
Mahomes was instrumental in leading the Chiefs back from an early 14-point deficit on Sunday, completing 9-of-12 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown on Kansas City's back-to-back scoring drives after falling behind by two touchdowns. He then engineered a 10-play, 75-yard scoring drive that put the Chiefs ahead early in the third quarter before throwing his second touchdown of the day – a 39-yard strike to wide receiver Rashee Rice – later in the contest.

This marks the 10th time that Mahomes has won AFC "Offensive Player of the Week" honors during his career, doing so at least once in each of the last six seasons.
Mahomes and the Chiefs will now aim to stay in the win column this weekend as the Chiefs travel to Green Bay for a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Packers.

Should have had 3 TDs honestly. Didn’t end up mattering in the end but we need to fire our “replay guy”. It seemed clear to me that Pacheco stretched out enough to get the TD while it happened live.

Yeah, I was yelling at the TV, but I guess they figured they'd get it on 4 shots at the endzone from the 1, so don't waste a challenge, but it was CLEARLY a touchdown, and a spectacular one at that. Ah well.

Given our inability to pick up short yardage, I thought a challenge would have been well worth it.

Past 2 games they've done a good job at using Pacheco in short yardage situations. I almost dropped a tear on a 3rd and 1 and a 2nd and 2 situation last week when we gave him the ball.

It’s true. We bullied the Eagles in the trenches. I definitely did not expect that. Made me feel great about a potential rematch in the Super Bowl.

Plus it’s almost December. I suspected we’d get it figured out by season’s end and it’s starting to come together. We’ve still got some kinks to iron out but I have faith we’ll be better in January/February.
