Anyone Going to Baltimore?

I might have a lead on some face value tickets, and a train ride would be abut $150RT. Weather looks like rain, but I am tempted to try and make my way there. Don't know much about B'more and wouldn't really want to hang there on a Saturday night alone, but curious if there is a contingent of Chiefs fans making plans.

Just go to DC for Saturday night and take the Amtrak/Marc train up to Baltimore on Sunday. Train tickets are very cheap. My understanding is that there will be light rain in the AM but should be ok by game time.

I'm going.

It'll be my second time there. Last time I took Amtrak from NYC Penn Station to Baltimore Penn Station and then got a ride from there to around the stadium (and I did the reverse that evening after the game). Wasn't too difficult.

This is what a Reddit poster said in response to someone's asking about coming from DC:

Quote:
America’s rail infrastructure is best in the “Northeast Corridor”, of which DC is the southern point. Look at Amtrak trains going from WAS (Washington Union Station ) to BAL (Baltimore Penn Station), then take an Uber to/from Penn Station. Recommend setting your Uber pickup/dropoff point at the “Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor” - when you arrive from Baltimore Penn, the walk from the hotel will take you down Eutaw Street through the Orioles baseball stadium - this design was was set the foundation for all modern baseball parks. At the end of Eutaw Street is the start of Ravenswalk. After the game, walking back up Ravenswalk and through Eutaw Street gets you past the cluster**** of a crowd leaving the game and is a more direct shot back to Baltimore Penn.

that's good intel, thanks! The Accela is under 3 hours ride Penn to Penn. You did it all in one day with no hotel overnight? I need to work in the city Monday AM anyways so going back to NYC Penn is convenient if a do a hotel Sunday night, but they are surely not cheap and availability might be tough.

Seems that if i do a Sunday/Sunday train that skyrockets in price anyway so might as well take the long route and maybe get to check out the harbor a little.

Yeah, I made a day trip out of it, but it was a 1pm game and I got out of there quickly afterward (we won). Whereas here if the Chiefs win you’re probably going to want to stick around for the trophy presentation, etc.

Acela is great from NYC to Baltimore. Harbor is on the way if you go through downtown.

Penn Station would be a perfect set for a horror movie.

You don't want to drive into that garbage city. Even the Inner Harbor has squeegee boys and bums confronting commuters. Co-worker got his car macheted by a bum in Baltimore while he was stopped at a red light.
