Couldn't you say that about other great QBs? Manning has been surrounded by talented receivers for years and Tom wasn't but still won.

And Brady won lots of games playing like that in the past without star WRs. He does what he has to do to win....instead of being the star or a stat whore.

(Maybe he'll do this some day, by the way -- if he has a career as long as Elway, Favre, and Montana, he's bound to play for a mediocre team someday.)
He already did take a mediocre team to the super bowl. At least twice.

I'd love the Chiefs to play like the Jaguars. There's no shame in the way they play..I think if they play the Pats 10 times, they most definately win 4. There's no shame in that.

If the Chiefs are playing the same kind of ball the Jags are here in 3 years, I'd be happy. We'd actually have a prayer.
The problem is that even the Jags won't be playing that well next year. They basically had a perfect season and look what it got them.

Those '03 and '04 Pats teams were not mediocre even if they weren't as good as this one. The '01 team was much closer to that descriptor.

I'm not taking anything away from Brady but he's always had a top 5 line (this year the best by far), and the best coaching staff in the league.

That makes a difference.

Yeah, I guess. I'm not sure I would call them mediocre without Brady.

Look, let's put it this way: If Tom Brady was the Chiefs QB this year, would we be playing in the AFC Championship?

I don't think so. I think we would have a better chance with Manning or Favre. I just think they are better QB's. Manning has more skill and command of the offense, and Favre has more gutty drive.

Favre is unquestionably gutty, but he's also one of the most physically talented QBs ever.

That's not really a fair criticism considering every gameplan a team has had for New England this season has failed.

Add to that....he's always had a Top 10 defense and a clutch kicker. I'm pretty sure Tom Brady wasn't blowing people out in the SBs he's been in. He's always relied on Vinatieri to win the game. If he goes into this SB and kicks the NFC's ass by 30 points.....then I'll crown him one of the greats.

take a look at some of the patriots super bowl rosters. deion branch, david patton, are the only two receivers i can remember off the top of my head. he has already won with mediocre talent. brady is the best qb i've watched play since the 80's joe montana.
