Dorsey believes that you need two run-stopping DEs. It's pretty clear, the way he's tracked down DeVito and apparently has eyes on Bryant.

So if that's the case, and it most definitely is, Jackson's a fair plug-in.

He'll probably run around $4m-$5m a year.
I just don't understand how a player that only plays two downs on a typical basis is worth that much. Maybe that's my lack of understanding the nuances of the game, but I just find it excessive and detrimental to the team as a whole to delegate that much to Jackson.

Not really. For the $$$ it's gonna cost to keep him, I want a guy who can play more than two downs.

Huge difference between being a 6th round pick and the number 3 overall. Comon now.

Yes, he's a better run stuffer than he was originally, but he hasn't evolved into something more. Evolve isn't the same as improving.

Sorry if what I said didn't make sense
It totally makes sense now. Sorry I misunderstood.

His draft position has no bearing on whether or not he should get a new contract now.

Same can be said for every player. Example - Tamba got 7 of his 11 sacks this season vs Oakland, Houston, and Washington - teams with a combined 9 - 39 record.

Love how ppl on this board just by default think that our depth will just step right in and produce with no problems. Catapano has A LOT of work to do before the chiefs can rely on him to start.

Where he was drafted has exactly 0 bearing on whether or not we should bring him back.

Nope, Richard Sherman should get less money in his next contract, because he was a fifth round pick.
