Since tomorrow is Mother's Day, post a picture of your mama, and tell us a thing or two about her.

I'll Start:

My mom Jan.
She worked on dozens of people in the OR when the Hiatt Skywalks collapsed. And her name is on a brick in the founder's plaza at Arrowhead underneath the statue of Lamar Hunt.

My mom is crazy. I mean literally off her rocker. My teenage years probably contributed to that to some degree so I'll go ahead and call her and apologize for that tomorrow.

George...I don't have a picture of my Mom and she passed away in 2008.

My Mom was a responder to the Hyatt Skywalk collapse.....she held the hands of many who were gravely injured and at times I believe that was a contributor to her mental state for many years after. One of her good friends was killed there....

We may have had many rough moments while she was struggling emotionally, but she was MY Mom....she passed away from the combined effects of many strokes, diabetes and dementia and it was tough to see her slowly slide away.

RIP Mom....

My mother is gorgeous and smart and a little bit of a stick in the mud depending on who she's screwing at the time.

She grew up like a squatter in shantys over the ocean. Shitting in a hole in the living room was normal, as was creating a daisy chain with your sisters to pluck eachother's armpit hair. She was a power forward on her high school basketball team at 5'3" and went to pre-med. Her mother practiced voo doo and her brothers are all priests. Eldest of 13 she took care of babies when my grandpa fisherman would run away from grandma fisherman who liked to drink and hit things. Bohol not being too big, he was always found and drug back home.

Now she lives the American dream. Loves me and my babies. Probably them a little bit more. Shakes her head over my general carefree attitude about life but always begs me to come home.

I love my mommy.

My mom worked at Trinity Lutheran Hospital, she was the nursing supervisor of the operating room. She got called in when the Hiatt collapse happened, and we didn't see her for two days. The hospital was at 31st and Main, about a half mile from the Hiatt. They got a lot of the first ambulances there. She seldom talks about it, it was a horrendous 48 hours.

My mom was a holocaust survivor who kept her little sister alive while her parents were in the camps and they were in hiding. She was one of the kindest people anyone knew and helped many people live better lives. When she died they had 100's at the funeral. I lost her to cancer when I was 13.
