Late night bullshit: drafting the Chiefs in the CP Mock.

Thanks to the ChiefsPlanet Mock gods (I.e. Pesty), I'm representing the Chiefs in this year's Mock.

I'm reasoning out my picks as much as time allows when my turn pops up, and I'll dump my reasoning for each pick in here for your ridicule and/or hero worship.

The mock doesn't allow for compensatory picks, but I'll make ersatz selections in this thread, too.

The OP will be updated as the mock goes on.

1. OL Cameron Erving, Florida State
2. WR Devin Smith, Ohio State
3. WR Justin Hardy, East Carolina
3. OLB Hau'oli Kikaha, Washington
4. ILB Taiwan Jones, Michigan State

If you thought bowe had drop problems, wait til you see Montgomery. Pass.

And wilson and hardy can both be slot players and exist on the same squad.

Not a big fan of drafting a center in the first, but it would be hard to complain about this draft. Definitely makes us a better team

Shun, just my opinion, but I think Hardison should have been the 3rd Rd comp pick.

With Howard and DeVito FA's in 2016, as well as the uncertainty surrounding Catapano, Hardison would have been a great pick.

6'3" 307 lbs
33 1/2 in arms
10 3/8 hands

Very quick DE with amazig athleticism. Very good numbers at ASU including 10 sacks last year.
One of my favorite DL in the entire draft.

Jesus dude with holes that need filling you have taken players at positions that we don't need while leaving those holes. Those holes that cannot be filled this late in the draft.
Your draft sucks ass horribly. Thank GOD you do not actually do the drafting.

You don't draft to fill holes though.

While a player with good work ethic can correct the hands thing, lets go with that... so I'll instead take Stefon Diggs, he can probably be had in the same round.

6'0 195 with elite top end speed and the ability to make people miss... I simply do not want an undersized possession receiver, what a waste of a roster spot.

I don't get the love for OL rd 1. I think you can still get a good player in rd 3. Idk maybe I just want a shiny impact player this year. We haven't had a sexy pick in a while.

Dorsey has drafted for need since when?

You're going to be a very angry person this draft, I predict

1 out of 5 picks isn't a need pick

Honestly, the Chiefs don't have needs like they used to. They should take good players regardless of what position they play whenever they can get them.

Package picks take the best QB.

If they think mariota is worth it, do it. I'm not sure his upside isn't Alex smith, but it's up to them
.

Like dj has said, they need to just keep stacking talent and depth.

I think Mariota has a better arm. I also think the line between Alex Smith and Russell Wilson is a thin one. Wilson can make more throws because he has better arm strength.

A Center/backup OL in the first, could have been had later than our 1st pick.
We don't need 2 WR in our first 3 picks.
We don't need an OLB.
An ILB in the 4th is late to have an immediate impact and our ILB corp is a mess. DJ is a huge question at best. The rest need improved upon.
