@ChiefsReporter: Dontari Poe will be resting until after #ChiefsCamp. Won't participate in team practices.

@pgsween: #Chiefs DT Dontari Poe had a herniated disk in his back and had successful surgery on July 15. He is doing great & will be up to camp Fri.

I used to hammer him all the time, mainly because of his general dipshittery, and I'd occasionally throw in the references to him being a meth and crackhead.

Well, Mr. Fax had a private conversation about the issues of addiction and because of that conversation, I stopped referencing that for quite a while.

But time has passed, Beach Tribe is a still a moron and FAX no longer participates at CP.

FAX took it upon himself to train Dane as a nice guy. He thought he could've instructed him just as well as Simply Red might have.

I have told stories of my drug use from early 20's. I'm 35 now.

So A decade ago I did drugs, and 6 years ago I said Tyson Jackson was going to be the next Richard Seymore, but over the last cpl days I have made Dane's ass burn with hate cause he's so easily fired up. I wonder how many children he has diddled to put out the fire.

Trying to get this thread back on point....here's some interesting stuff concerning Dontari Poe and his recovery.

“Recovery varies from person to person, even in athletes,” Anand wrote in an email. “But in general, if all went well with the surgery, he should able to resume training and activities within six weeks and could return to a 100% playing ability.

Anand said Poe’s rehab will consist of “intense core strengthening” and “task-specific muscle training” over the next six weeks to three months.

David Chao, who spent 17 years as a former NFL team physician, agreed with Anand’s timeline.

“My guess is, the first month (of rehab) — and I haven’t examined him — is more about pain (control), swelling and edema control and trying to maintain a little bit of baseline fitness,” Chao said. “And the next month is more transitioning into some good, hard rehab. And perhaps the last month, the third month, is (working on) football muscles, football shape, field work.”

That said, if Poe does end up following that three-month timeline, which would put him in the mix to return in mid-October, it would not be a surprise if he started the season on the physically unable to perform list.

“I don’t know him, maybe he’s Superman — and by some reports, I think he’s a pretty special guy,” Chao said. “But if he makes it week one, he should be celebrated for doing a great job.”

If he could make a mid-October comeback at 100% that would put him on the field just in time to face the Vikings followed by the Steelers.

That would be huge for us.
