Sucks that we don't get tour backups against the Chargers this year. I was getting used to that.

Because this team is far too reliant on a formula that can not hold up in the playoffs.

Why can't it? The Seahawks and broncos won games on the backs of their defense. The Seahawks won a game against Aaron Rodgers where Russell Wilson threw FOUR ****ing interceptions.

I get that games have more intensity in the playoffs, but I hate the "the style that won in the regular season can't win in the playoffs" argument. It's still the same sport. The rules don't magically change in the playoffs. The Raiders wouldn't have magically become better than the Chiefs because it's not the regular season anymore.

The Seahawks were a top 5 defense, and #1 in points allowed, and that defense was complemented by a strong running and a QB that made timely plays on offense.

The Broncos were historically good on defense, and were also supported by an effective run game.

The Chiefs are not nearly as good defensively as either of those teams, and the offense is consistently inept.

It probably CAN hold up in the playoffs, but it will require both JMac and Houston to actually be playing and playing effectively...

What are you basing this off of? yardage stats? 3rd down %?

Yes, both areas suck... but how bout them PPG allowed? ranked 7th best.. is that not more important?

Bob Sutton is going bend don't break.. so judging the D on yards and 3rd down %... is that really the way to go?

( just like Andy's philosophy of the offense.. the yards, TDs, and % are all related to his decisions to go conservative with a lead )

Chiefs have zero pass rush w/o Houston. Injured or not, Dee Ford has just completely disappeared the last 4 games or so.

Chiefs are DJ-less, on an already bad run defense.

And then there's always the Andy Reid/Alex Smith factor. We'll see multiple drives stall, 3nOuts, conservative passes and playcalling, not much moving of the chains.

This team has run into a plethora of problems all around. Hopefully Denver's shitty QB screws the pooch and plays shittier than our QB, that's about all we can hope for.

Denver 23
Kansas City 17

The Chiefs live and die on turnovers, and I just can't see them forcing the Steelers or (especially) the Patriots into those mistakes.

This is a concern of mine as well. However I think a lot of afc teams are flawed. KC doesn't have to play prefect games against them.

Now if KC makes it up against PIT or especially NE they might end up needing a special teams or defensive score. Defensive score seems unlikely against Brady. That will have to be a game where our red zone offense shows up and so does our pass rush.

I think it's possible. They have been inconsistent but the skill is there. For now somehow securing the two seed would make it more likely we only see PIT or NE which would help a lot.

It's not crazy to think Oakland would have lost in Denver. They nearly lost to sd missing Gordon. If kc gets the tiebreaker it will be because Oakland lost to Denver without carr. Sure. But it also will be because we beat Oakland twice. 3 of the four halves being decisive.
Exactly!

I'm with you there...I can't see it either.

The Chiefs are going to have lots of trouble when facing a good QB in the playoffs.

Seriously...where the **** is Dee Ford? Dontari Poe? Poe doesn't get too much credit for eating up double teams...but wtf has the pass rush gone?

Didn't know we had locked up the #2 seed. Truly a Christmas miracle. Why are we playing the next two games?
