For many people, it's about the anthem protest and his image as a "thug" which is just silly. If Marcus Peters gave you 4 years of mediocre to shit play with a few great games trickled in (ala Alex Smith), then I understand the hatred.

Sorry man, the cancer tag has merit IMO and its not about the protests... it's about the other players seeing him half ass around and not be reprimanded for it

I don't care if the entire D hates Smiths guts, there is no excuse for not doing your job to the best of your ability... yet that's exactly what they're all doing, led by the example of our supposed All-Pro

Yep.

We also have to keep in mind Reid is a players coach. He always defends his players and does whatever he can to deflect criticism that should be going to them onto himself. He wants his players to like him and know that he always has their back.

So for him to suspend one of his players, you have to really piss Reid off. I' suspect there's been other incidents that have happened that we don't know about. What happened Sunday was probably the final straw.

Best case scenery Peters learns his lesson and is a model player/teammate from here on out but his 'lol' tweet is not a good sign. I was hoping he'd make an apology but I'm starting to think the kid is a lost cause. Time will tell.

I think there was a quote earlier in this thread about Andy having a meeting with Peters that resulted in the suspension.

Andy: "Hey Marcus, you are going to have to clean it up, start tackling and keep your socks on."

Peters: "Ok Coach, but is it ok if I wear black and silver socks this Sunday?"

If there wasn't at least a couple meetings leading up to this it would be shocking to say the least.

I can understand that point of view. Not going to to hate on you for it. Like I mentioned before, I'm open minding and willing to see other perspectives.

Except from Alex Smith homers. That was only tolerable the first 4 seasons.

Yup. Like I mentioned, Reid got put in a tough position. I hope for him and the team it pays off. I wonder how much conversation the coaches and ownership had before coming to a conclusion weighing the pros and cons.

I have been a lurker for years but I finally joined to post on this thread. My co-worker told be MP is suspended for Sunday our own coach/team??? Not the league??? Unfreakin-believable. Its RaiderWeek. That means all hands on deck. Not let's suspend our best CB over some bs-week. Check the Raider fans reactions on twitter. They are loving it. That's alone is reason enough not to suspend MP. And it yes its about race. Kelce pulls some stunt every week and has never been suspended. And don't bring up on field performance. Remember when Kelce had fumbilitis to the point it cost us a trip to the playoffs(Cardinals game)??? Its mos def about showing that we can keep the darkies on our plantation in line on chief.
