Drafttek mock April 4
Check out this Drafttek mock for the Chiefs:
54. Carlton Davis - Corner 78. Kyzir White - Safety 86. Wyatt Teller - Guard 122. Kendrick Norton - DL 124. Jerome Baker - OLB 196. Duke Ejiofor - EDGE 233. Frank Herron - DL 243. Dylan Cantrell - WR * Newly updated reflecting the Rams/Pats trade and this version is quite different from the March 28th version. * A run of OL at the top of the 2nd pushes some DBs down the board, and the best press man fit, Carlton Davis, is there for the taking. I love the 3rd round picks in White and Teller. Teller needs some work in pass pro, but he is technically sound in the run game and finishes plays with some nasty. * Not a huge fan of the Norton selection with Shepherd still on the board, but I do like the Baker pick. He could be our new KPL in that he can cover in space, spy, and hold up against the run and even be a third safety. * Love the value of the Ejiofor pick. Duke plays undisciplined at times, but has heavy hands and sheds well. His combine injury and lacklustre testing has him dropping on a lot of boards/mocks. https://www.drafttek.com/m/2018-NFL-...aft-Round1.asp |

I have no doubt they want a TE, but considering the needs elsewhere, I wouldn't be surprised if it waits until next year. I think they just "make do" with what they have at either TE or LG this year, draft for one of those two this year and the other next year.

If Hernandez, Wynn or Price fall to them In the second round then I think we'd be silly not to take em. Then after that we can get a TE In the later rounds. There's quite a few decent prospects tbh. Gesicki, Goedert, Andrews, Thomas, Schultz, Smythe, Herndon to name a few. One decent prospect will be there for us In the 6th round I think.

As for TE, I don't really see the value in drafting a really raw guy in the 6th round, he will take 0 snaps off Harris this year if the Chiefs do that, why not just wait till next year when you have multiple 2nd round picks and take a quality guy, almost all the guys you mention have no chance in hell of being there in the 6th. |

As I said before, I'm fine with them taking a TE with a higher pick and the Chiefs need one, but considering the number of holes on the defense, I can't see them taking a guard and a TE high, so if a TE you love falls into the third, maybe you have to take a punt on a 6th or 7th round guard or just live with Ehinger/Witzman for another year. If Ragnow is there at 54 you run to the podium and live with Harris for another year. |
