QB School: Mahomes missed two chances to go to the SB

Hardman, Kelce or Pringle.

He just missed them. Period.

Awwww come on man. Reid told Mahomes to throw the game at halftime?

Step away from the ledge.

Forgot how to audible to a run when faced with 3 down linemen? ANDY AND MAHOMES DONT RUN THE BALL,THATS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM.

Seriously...the amount of fail to hit at once for that to happen was spectacular. AMEN AND AGREED BUT PAT DIDN’T GO CRAZY, HAVE A CONCUSSION OR GET BRIBED. HE WAS JUST PUTTING TO MUCH PRESSURE ON HIMSELF TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME. I do think he was tired from running around so much and from the adrenaline and maybe that lead to him wanting to play it safe also after mistakes earlier in the game.
See answers above and mahomes didn’t hand that ball off on second down because he would have scored and he didn’t want to score. I think mahomes and Andy disagreed on the game so mahomes ran the play but didn’t want to score on 2nd bc it leave the bengals with too much time. Third down at the end, he’s afraid of a tipped pass. He had a spy LB that could have tipped the pass over the middle, not likely to actually happen but that’s what he feared.

So if the game was rigged, why did Mahomes even bother tying it?

Next two possessions are FG (Mahomes missed open guys at end) and OT possession.

This wasn't a playcalling issue. Guys were open. Maybe not on the third and 3 but that will happen once inawhile.

Biggest issue on those four possessions is drops and Mahomes yips.

Our best guys just got beat and didn't do their jobs. That is hard to stomach.
100% agreed but mahomes scores on that 2nd down at the of the game with a pass to hardman if he believes the d will stop them. That equals too much pressure on mahomes. Dline has to be our number 1 focus this off-season. Not wr, rb or anything on offense or even safety. Spags can make it work with a dominant dline and take pressure of mahomes.

The NFL loves close games at the end, especially in playoffs - national TV. Duh - it's an entertainment spectacle that gets 75% of total revenue via TV money. So, for that reason alone, the NFL obviously told Reid to "do his thing" (just like the COlts game in Jan 2014) and not run any clock to let the Colts - I mean BENGALS - back into the game.

AND after all the OT controversy the week before (cries of "it's not fair!") it really shut the detractors of the OT rules right the **** up.

Was it true that Mahomes threw that interception 13 seconds into overtime?

I don't knpw, but didn't you find it odd that they basically forgot how to play...until they HAD to tie it...and then they forgot how to play again?

Mahomes last 5 plays were something like :
sack
sack/fumble
incomplete pass
almost intercepted
intercepted

come on, even Matt Cassel didn't suck that bad.

Given Mahomes demeanor, I'd lay dollars to donuts that the argument between Reid and Mahomes had something to do with following orders to tank the game, and Mahomes probably didn't like that shit one little bit.

It's makes way more sense than ANYTHING anyone else has conjectured, and since we now know for a fact that NFL coaches are involved in the rigging of games, we can logically surmise that that is indeed exactly what happened.

And we probably lose if we punt anyway. Like 20 extra yards of field position that the Bengals would just chew up running the ball into our once again gassed defense.

The NFL also loves money. Mahomes melting down for a whole half doesn't make them any money. If they were going to rig the game it would have been a shoot out with Burrow coming out on top.

The point spread was 7. So the game tightening the way it did absolutely made an enormous amount of money for anyone who put big money on the final score being closer than 7 points.

Had to get to the tie before they could get to any "shootout", first of all.

The game was rigged with the exact same script used for the ****ing Colts loss in Jan 2014 and the Titans loss in Jan 2018.

Seen it before. Maybe you missed those games, idk.

But the shit is rigged. We know that now. There's absolute proof, as long as you believe Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Dwight Smith, Brian Flores, Hue Jackson, etc...

You dont understand how the over/under and point spread work.

75% on the money was on the game being over 54.5 points. 67% was on KC winning by 7.5 or more.

There were only two games to bet on...so there was shit-ton of cash riding on this game.

If the NFL wanted Burrow in the SB...Mahomes cant score a TD before halftime. The point total would, then, have be 57 or greater for the Bengals to win...KC 28 Bengals 30

They would lose millions and millions.

Math is your friend...Mahomes HAD to go dark.

The orders came in at halftime - stand the **** down.

And Mahomes was visibly not happy about it. At all.

None of us should be.

I'm curious if Mahomes played too well in the first half...and that's where the confrontation stemmed from.

It would have hung Reid out to dry as KC could only score around 3 more points...they couldn't score another TD for the remainder of the game.

So either Mahomes was "informed" of this at half...which I doubt considering how the half ended with no points...or it was staged theatrics for the LR.

There was talk of Mahomes getting into with Reid over a 1st half timeout...which make absolutely no sense...at all...completely out of character for something inconsequential. Might have been a set-up....it is legit sketchy behavior. I've never seen Mahomes do anything close to that...

There is the issue of Mecole asking why Pat wasnt throwing him the ball...I'm curious if the all 22 confirms this.

I tried to check on Chris Simms breakdown of this game...and interestingly...there isnt one yet. If they dont do a segment on it...then you know it's a cover up. If he does...it will be very interesting on what he says.

This OP segment only cover the final sequence...

That makes sense, actually - that's why Mahomes literally ran around like a chicken with his head cut off through out the 2nd half, just staring down open receivers and taking sacks - the Keystone Kops shit I keep referencing.

It was all so, so sketchy. Which is why Mahomes ACTED like he wanted to throw another pass...and Reid ACTED like he agreed...but Reid called a play where Tyreek's route was 6 yards behind the LOS..and Patrick threw it right to him...

Maybe...and this is me spitballing...maybe the argument at halftime was because Tyreek was stopped one yard from the goalline - maybe they got too close to actually scoring, and Reid wanted him to tone it down a bit?
