It wasn't Hewbuht's fauwt!

It was Evwett!!!!

Waaaaaaaah!

Anybody else a little bit, "Really?" after hearing every last person and their mother blame the Chargers' pick 6 ENTIRELY on the receiver?

Ball shouldn't have been thrown. Herbert should have known Everett was trying to come out of the game. Maybe you shouldn't have run so much unnecessary hurry-up offense because you can get burned in situations like this? Jaylen Watson just made a great play?

All of these are contributing factors to the pick 6. But all they can focus on is trashing Everett so their precious Herpderp doesn't have any shit on his face. Gotta keep their perfect little angel clean! It's never his fault, after all!

At least a few of these guys get it. Ryan Fitzpatrick is one of the smartest men associated with the NFL and he sees it clear as day as well. He sees it as deeply as us, that there is something more to Mahomes that those other scabs can't reach.

Mahomes has what Jordan had. There is something in his DNA that is incredibly rare and can't really even be explained. He brings out the best in those on his side and the worst for those the opposing teams. They expect to lose when he's on the field, and it becomes self fulfilling prophecy. The win against the Bills last year should have made that abundantly clear. Despite the fluke loss to the Bengals, no other QB in NFL history wins that game with 13 seconds left against Buffalo. Nobody except him.

You add to that one of the top 5 coaches in NFL history, the best GM in football, Spags always putting together a solid & opportunistic defense, and the best home field advantage in pro sports, and the rest of league stands no chance in most cases. It's really that simple, no matter how much the media or anyone else tries to bitch and moan it out of existence.

It's interesting that Mahomes is very well-liked around the league and by fans, yet they're all whining about the favorable calls he gets. It's as if they have no comprehension of the idea that Patrick throws risky passes when he sees the defense jump offsides because there is no risk.

In any case, this call out of Everett and doing everything within one's power to say, "Nononono it's not Herbert's fault!" is stupid. It's like how everybody yelled and screamed at Darrell Bevell when Russell Wilson threw the goal line INT in that Patriots Super Bowl.

Don't like the play call? That's fair. But Darrell Bevell didn't call "Russ, throw a pick to Malcolm Butler." He called the play he called.

Herbert still made the decision to throw to Everett. And go along with the no huddle. It's more than partly his fault. He gets at LEAST half of the blame.

Most of the former players do and I'm sure in private most talking heads do as well. They are suppose to take the opposite angle to rile people up for clicks and listens.

I find it even funnier that they can literally watch Bosa almost end his season diving at his knees and somehow his RT gets a holding call on the play, and still have the nerve to say he gets favored by the refs.

There isn't a star QB in recent memory who gets less help from the officials.

I've seen great quarterbacks pull that ball back/down dozens of times. Montana was the master at it - if someone slipped on a route or something he wouldn't just throw a YOLO ball out there anyway. He'd pull the ball down and re-set or throw it away.

They were running quick tempo and it sped Herbert's clock up. It got him amped and had him throwing without looking. Was there some tough luck involved? I mean - I guess. But ultimately he's the final triggerman and the blame should rest with him.

Mahomes would've taken so much hell for being 'reckless' with the football there but folks will bend over backwards to absolve Herbert.

Face it CP is pretty quiet these days because we really don't have much to bitch and moan about with the Chiefs. The ones who do have always been pretty much brain dead morons. It's why DC forum is a lightning forum right now.

Kind of the same thing nationally, Mahomes is a freaking monster but you got to have create that rival narrative or things get kind of quiet.

It was 100% on Herb and Staley. Both were too blind to see Everett was not able to contribute on that play.

How do people not know that all of those interceptions that Mahomes throws when there is a flag is because he literally throws it up because he knew they either jumped offsides, was grabbing the receiver, etc. It's not just oh Mahomes threw an interception let's make sure to help him out flag.

Probably wouldn't go that far, 2 plays to get 35 yards is difficult but hardly impossible for a top NFL QB. What was most impressive to me was AR's play call. Basically a WR screen with 13 sec left from his own 25, and that was the call as the other 2 WR's on that side were not running routes but blocking downfield immediately. I don't think any other coach in NFL history has the guts to make that call in that situation.

It’s been a fun week watching media clips of the talking heads crying about the almost pics and missed calls. Maybe after we win the division about five more years in a row, they’ll start acknowledging our greatness.
