That is how the NFL handled it.
You sure about that? I could have sworn that all of the old records/stats and affiliated players are part of the Baltimore franchise recorded history.

I don't think I realized it until a week or so ago, but did y'all know that the Chiefs only actually won the AFC West three times under Marty?

For all the talk of 'the streak' that went on in the 90s, that team was CONSTANTLY a bridesmaid. It seemed really cool to me at the time but man, hindsight (and Andy Reid) sure make that appear really mediocre.

Nope, he's right. The browns kept the rights to the name and history of the franchise

I believe he’s right. I think Cleveland kept all their records, and Baltimore is considered a different franchise. I’m guessing the Ravens were happy to let go of everything that happened in Cleveland.

Verified, I had it wrong. Baltimore's website doesn't list any individual team records prior to 1996. And their ring of honor doesn't include any of the old Browns players. Though, interestingly enough, it does include old Baltimore Colts players. What a screwball way to do things.

The Lions and Browns have an entire generation of fans that's never even SEEN a home playoff game. Think about that.

As bad as the Chiefs were before Mahomes, they had numerous home playoff games, albeit all losses between 1995 and 2017.

I remember pre Patrick many believed Reid was a post season choker. What a difference a QB makes

I honestly don't know if that was better or worse. At least Lions and Browns fans didn't regularly have their brimming-with-hope souls crushed regularly. The best part of adding a game to the regular season is that we'll never again be 13-3 going into the playoffs.

Raiders, Browns, Jets, and Lions - pictures of futility.

It's surprising to see how many teams have won their division in the past 10 years. League is generally pretty equal. At least, it was until a certain Patrick Mahomes II entered the league. If you haven't heard, he plays for my favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Browns suffer "The Drive" in '86-'87 only to be beaten again by Elway again in '89.
That might be worse than No Punt, Luck Recovers TD, or Mariota's Self TD.

Which is asinine. The Colts are a completely different franchise.

It is like if the Texans honored the Oilers players.

The Browns did have their moment when they won the division four times and went to three AFCCG in the late 80s. But of course with Marty as coach for most of it they would blow those games with the Broncos. I rooted hard for those Browns teams, but it was sweet to see the Donks get blown out in the SB three times during those years.
