That's not a bad rep from Karlaftis, he has more ground to cover because, ostensibly, the play is not being run to him. So he's offering down-line support while also having to retain the ability to cut back if need be. So that's not a super easy task, and the rep you're seeing is close to league-average for that job.

The real failure is Dickerson, who holds up for half a beat but then gets totally washed, which I'm sad to say was pretty normal on the snaps I watched him play.

Danna and Coburn both do their jobs, but the otherworldly run support from McDuffie seals this one.

I thought Karlaftis played his ass off. I was excited about our DE's.

Felix looks like he has a lot of burst as well.

The biggest issue right now is clearly the DT position. But maybe the Chris Jones addition solves that, or at least makes it as manageable as possible.

I think this DE position grouping is going to have growing pains, but once you get 5 games in with the Karlaftis/Omenihu/Danna/FAU rotation rolling, you're going to have a ton of energy off the edge.

Add Jones up the gut, and some menial improvements from Coburn and Wharton, and you're looking okay, suddenly.

I watched again and thought he was OK. I wouldn't go overboard but to be honest that's also a pretty damn good OL he's up against. When you factor in Jones not being there it probably ticks up again.

Oh Dickerson was flatlined no doubt, and sure that's not easy but it's a guy 20lbs lighter who had no reputation as a blocker at college. It's exactly the sort of play I'd expect above average play from Karlaftis on.

Ha, fair enough. On the latter point I'd expect both Omenihu and FAU to be better rushers, possibly Danna too, we'll see. Curious to know where others see him in the pecking order, but I appreciate the answer may be "they'll do different things".

I wouldn't, especially now that Jones is back. George and Danna with Felix needing reps, Thompson possibly as a rush specialist and Herring as your big run down end is fine, and you have Omenihu in 5 weeks.

Biggest issue is quality one tech, in my opinion, but Coburn's showing promise. Gotta get Nnadi out of there.

I think Farrell and Coburn between them could be absolutely fine tbh.

The real failure is Dickerson.
You could've probably stopped right there.

"What roster move will the Chiefs be making to make room for Chris Jones?"

Uh...really? You have to ask?

Dickerson was a dumpster fire against Detroit. Again, worse than Nnadi and that's a pretty tough trick to manage. In limited action he was as bad as any defensive lineman I've seen in the last several years in KC. And we've had a whole slew of pretty shitty lineman.

I honestly wouldn't even re-sign him to the practice squad. He was hilariously awful.
