#1. Superbowl, not regular season game.
#2. Jason Kelce hugs his mom and cries into her shoulder, Caleb collapsed into his mother like a trust fall.
#3. I don't think people are ripping him for crying after a loss, that usually happens in the locker room or on the way to it, but with the way he just collapses into his mom's arms, I see 8 year olds in my swim classes who do that and I think the same thing. There's a time and a place to lose your emotional shit, when your baby is born, when you get married, when you graduate college, not after losing to Washington when your team was already out of the college playoffs.

Patrick Mahomes lost to damn near everyone in college football, I don't recall him trust falling into his moms arms and crying with a piece of paper to cover it up. The parental side wants to tell him "There, there, it'll be okay." but another parental side should say, "Man up, take your loss and move on."

Other than offending the tough guy instincts of my generation and older, the main takeaway is probably that he cares that deeply about losing in spite of having a great day personally. Honestly it's a little cringey for me to watch, but if my NFL team is currently without a top-tier elite QB I would happily overlook it.
I’ll agree with you here. Crying into my mom’s arms after I lost a football game is not something I’d do, but it doesn’t even register to me as an issue. I actually wish my emotional growth hadn’t been stunted from a lifetime of being told to “be a man” ‘cause crying feels GOOD AF lol (remember when you’d get a spanking and cry your eyes out into the pillow then wake up an hour later wondering what year it was?)

Hell, part of me almost respects it. He had to know he was going to get ripped to shreds by the media and yet he did it anyway.

It’s sort of a weird paradox, honestly. Is he weak for feeling the need to cry or is he strong for not caring about the potential fallback of letting people see him cry?

Uhhh.... No... No I do not remember that (and this is not something where I'm acting like one is better or more manly or whatever than the other or anything, I'm just genuinely wondering if I'm the weird one here who doesn't feel this)

What? He is allowed to have emotions because he's more experienced and more mature? Anybody dunking on Williams for crying is a ****ing loser.

Not going to dunk on him for being overly passionate but he's going to have to learn to handle that better once he hits the league. You're not going to earn the respect of the rest of the team by crying after every loss.

Sure, I agree. But I don't know all of the circumstances that led to this. If it's a consistent issue, it's probably something he needs to address, but one emotional outburst isn't a sign of weakness. (Not that you're saying that)

As wazu pointed out, even the most respected and toughest NFL players cry.

Kelce wasn't just crying because he lost a game. At the time, he thought that was the last game he'd ever play. He was going to retire. The end of a career you love is a perfectly valid reason to cry...and of course Kelce wasn't in the fetal position ugly crying like a little bitch.

Caleb Williams is an entitled bundle of sticks, and barring a major shift in his personality during the next 6 months, he's going to ruin an NFL GM's career.

One player lost a meaningless PAC 12 game against the University of Washington.

The other lost a SB in which he was competing against his brother whom he is very close to.

Not even remotely close to the same thing.

The team that drafts this soft little douche, is in for a world of hurt. If he thinks it's tough in college, he's in for a huge wake up call, when he gets to the NFL.

There are definitely red flags. The partial ownership of the team might have been enough for me to be out on him. That's really ****ing weird. But him getting caught crying on camera (when, again, we don't know everything that was going on) is not even on my radar as a concern and I don't see why it should be.

I really don’t care if the dude cries. I want a qb who takes losing personally. As long as it doesn’t affect his emotions on the field who cares.

I don’t know what it is about the guy but there just seems to be something performative about it. Like, I don’t think you can fake that kind of emotion but at the same time there’s something that feels like he’s trying really hard to prove how much he cares.

I dunno, I know that’s crazy but am I the only one that wonders?

*puts on secret detective decoder ring* I think he's a spoiled brat who never learned how to handle adversity. That's why he crumbles under pressure, and that's why he doesn't bother to compose himself, even in public.

I just don't see how it's going to work out for him at the NFL level, especially looking at the field for #1 overall. Most likely looking at the Cardinals, Bears, or Giants. MAYBE the Giants can turn it around relatively quickly but the Cardinals and Bears would set him up for YEARS of futility unless the organizations go through drastic top to bottom overhauls.
