I never gave 2 shits about a signature other than the one on my paycheck. I met George Brett several times. Once when I surveyed his new property in Mission Hills for the closing and another time for improvements he was planning on his home. I spoke to him a few times in a business manner he seemed gracious and nice FWIW.

The only upside to that story was my son met Buck O'Neil who spent 30 minutes talking to my son and my wife after seeing Damon pull his stunt. He even signed the foul ball baseball my son had gotten off Damon's bat that night.

I'll share mine, although not all that glamorous. My brother and I waited in the players lot after a weeknight game when Damon was only a few years into the league. JD comes out after a little while and starts signing for kids waiting (including us) and after like 3 minutes, his first wife starts yelling at him from the car about how she's tired and wants to go. Damon paused and said something like "I don't care, I'll sign for every kid out here waiting" and she slammed the car door. She came off like an absolute nagging bitch (no wonder they divorced) and he came off pretty cool.

I stopped collecting autographs after I left my mid teens. I did however have Dan Akroyd sign a Wall Street Journal in 1987 at LAX in the international terminal while he was filming the movie "Coach Trip." There was almost no one there while they were filming.

Alright got one more. Barely meets the “celebrity” criteria but you guys might remember Blake Treinen, relief pitcher for the Dodgers and Nationals, originally from KS. Back when he was with the Nats, in DC I’m at batting practice before a game with my kids. One of my boys looks him up, sees he’s from KS and yells to him from the stands “hey Blake my dad is from Kansas!”. So Blake walks backwards to the outfield stands and begins a 5 minute conversation with me during BP where he was asking me questions about where I went to school, why I lived in DC, expressing he was a fan of K-State etc. I thought the convo was over and then my kid nudged me and Blake was flashing me K-State gang signs from the field (the “Cat” which they invented after I graduated). Then he threw me a ball which I gave to some little kid. He was the most down to earth pro athlete I ever met and a genuinely nice guy.

I wanted autographs as a kid and remember tossing baseballs from GA into the bullpen to get them from randos in there, but yeah as an adult I just don't get it outside of I guess turning around and selling them to people who care.

Met several celebrities....some were gracious, others were stand off-ish.....a few were downright jerks.

I have only asked for the autographs of a couple of celebrities....Mickey Mantle who despite the problems he had personally, was still my all time favorite player....and Buck Buchanan. Got both of them when I was working at King Louie International.

I actually met George Foreman when I worked at Salton in Columbia Mo....they were the owners of the Foreman grill and had asked George to come into town to be the Grand Marshal for the Missouri Special Olympics being held in Columbia. Was introduced to him by my boss who was the CFO....when he shook my hand I thought....man that is the softest handshake I have ever had for a man like him. Found out later that he had to be taught to shake hands like that because he had such a normally firm grip that he would hurt people just shaking hands. One of the nicest guys I ever met.
