Yeah like most on here say since its a deep DL draft they may take 2 of their first 4 picks there.

We need a new RT in 2026.

I think double-dipping at DL and drafting 2 weapons is the best play for those first 4 picks
Odds are he’s gonna flip 95 or the fourth rounder, let’s be real

Which is totally fine if you’re going up to get a blue chip. I like when he trades up in the first round. That’s gotten us Worthy and McDuffie most recently.

So the question is which good player that fits is going to slip far enough for us to trade up for?

It would be a lot easier to trade up to the middle of the 2nd than to trade up in the first. I've seen Conerly drop to the middle of the 2nd in many of the mocks I've run.

As others have mentioned this isn't a great vote of confidence for FAU.

Have a feeling he will be good someday but it won't be here.

If we want Conerly and think that is the way the draft is playing out in regard to him then that could be a trade down scenario.

No surprise. He wasn't exactly dominating the snap counts last year.

He was not but many seemed to see lots of impact plays for the small sample size he was given.

He made some plays and might still play a bigger role because of depth and if Omenihu can't stay healthy. It was basically a Kpassagnon pick, hoping he could develop into something. Plus the local connection. Maybe it can still pan out but I'm not counting on him to have some huge breakthrough. Will be a bonus if that's the case.

One of the biggest reasons why FAU never sees the field is we paid Danna and Omenihu.

Spags loves his veterans and Omenihu has his preferred body type. FAU just smaller.

There’s as many Spags DE prospects as any that I have ever seen in a draft before. I just don’t think it’s good business giving a pick like that up. The pick swap would be ideal here bc if you move 66 to the late 90’s you still get one of these really good DE prospects to compete with Felix and provide depth/replace Omenihu in 2026.

Dang, I totally forgot about Danna.

We're fairly deep at DE but generating pressure was a struggle in 2024. The team was among the sack leaders in 2022 and 2023. Must have been a coverage issue in 2024.

So you're going to bank on Jaylon Moore being the absolute answer at LT with Morris backing him up?

I wanted Moore here to have a chance at stopping the bleeding. I still want a LT drafted. It doesn't have to be round 1 but I'd be slightly worried if it they didn't go that route. I'd be happy enough with a developmental type behind Moore like Charles Grant from William & Mary. I don't think they can sit idle there though.

I also am not in the "we need a RB" camp. It would be nice to draft a RB but Reid has proven time and again he can make chicken salad from chicken shit at that position. It's not a concern nor a need.

I think we would be wise to draft another WR before we draft a RB, honestly. The depth behind Worthy and Rice is a bunch of 1-year contracts and there is a vacant spot up for grabs.

I also think it's prudent to explore LB and S. We have a lot of bodies at LB but nothing proven beyond Bolton, Chenal, and Tranquil. Chenal is more of a part-time player who doesn't see the field as much in nickel. Tranquil looks to be slowing down. We are also lacking depth at S. We have Hicks, Cook, and Conner, but we're looking right now at Deon Bush potentially being the 4th guy there.

I'm looking at this draft a little differently maybe, and I don't know if it's going to fall the way we each might want.

Would any OT drafted after the 1st round be much better than Kingsley, Morris, or Humphries?

Outside of QB, there's no position that should be off limits to draft. It wouldn't hurt to get better at each position. Just a matter of choosing the best player available outside the 1st round.

Thus my concern not going LT in round 1. Honestly, I'm still heavily aboard the move up to 24 and draft Conerly train. And no, I don't think he'll make it to 31 like many pundits have him doing. I can be wrong though.

I do see really good value in the 2nd and 3rd at DE, DT, LB, and S and we should still have 3 shots in the top 100 even if we move up.
