Whitlock was right about Sims

Sims is worthless. He was neutralized by an OL that no one has ever heard of before.

On a good DL, Sims would be a backup.

When your draft picks suck that bad you're screwed.

Holliday/Hicks/Sims....

worthless, all of them

Agreed..cleary he was overrated coming out of college. He may develop into a decent player someday but not a consistent pass rusher. The problem is..when you look at that draft..who else were we gonna take in that position? Peppers and Harrington, the other 2 players we coveted at the time were both gone by then.

Bryant McKinnie was a very realistic choice at that point without trading a 3rd round pick to boot as was Dante Stallworth. I admit that Sims was the DT that I wanted the most but with Henderson and Haynesworth also there I didn't see the need to move up just a couple picks and give up a 3rd rounder.

I contended all along that I would have taken Sims if he were there otherwise I would have probably taken Dante Stallworth. There was enough good quality there that the trade up didn't make a lot of sense. Looking at our pitiful WR corps Stallworth would be a very welcome addition right now.

John Henderson and Albert Haynesworth were taken soon after, and they're currently anchoring two of the better Ds in the league.

Yep true..Stallworth would be a great addition right now. But hindsites 20/20. I guess the feeling was Sims had more upside than Stallworth? Sims is ok...and will probably play in the NFL for a long time.....maybe not with us...but clearly was not worth a 6th pick.

But they are not gamechangers are they?? On this D they would disappear just as bad as Sims more than likely.

I'm not agruing the pick...I'm just admitting that Whitlock was right: Sims is basically worthless.

Sims is worthless but Eric Hicks has no business giving him shit either. I'm sick and tired of waiting for him to meet expectations. Hicks is the most overrated defensive player on our defense. He almost makes me pine for the days of Duane Clemons.
