Sub-forum decision

We have 4 sub-forums stuck at the top of the page. We need to add a "Games" sub-forum during the season for all our Gambling, pick'em, score, fantasy, etc. games which accompany the regular season.

I don't want more than 4 sub-forums at the top, so one of them needs moved. Which one?

Heh. That would certainly be the most logical choice. But that would have been the most logical choice a loooong time ago, I see no reason why we should expect her to make a logical decision now.

She feeds off of the negative attention, no way she goes some place where she fits in.

Generally, I would agree that htismaqe is fair. However, in this particular instance he seems intent on coming down in the middle of a specific debate in which one side's argument is not supported by historical evidence.

heh ... to be honest, parker tends to want to come down in the middle of just about every debate. It's his "logical people don't overreact" instincts.

both sides wrong ... only he's right, because he's in the middle

but we love him anyway

Well, considering it's not possible to figure out who voted for what, I guess the answer is no.

In all honesty that would be a huge amount of work for the moderators over the principle, looking up IPs crossreferencing them etc when it is not going to change the result. I think you should cut them some slack, the intent to kill the DC forum is not their intent, it is just an unfortunate by product of all these subforums. Phil is looking into the feasibility of letting the user subscribe to which subforums he wants to see on the front page so lets give the moderators some slack. My argument is with the BB population not the moderators.

I have already established that the history of which you speak is a short and unique one. Why you feel you can fairly judge actions based upon that period of time is beyond me.

Actually I completely understand it, it helps support your argument, so you will focus on it regardless.

We are back the the definition of "unilateral" again. And you all wonder why we have left....

Yes, htis is human like the rest of us, but he is not the type of person who's charater and integrity you question so loosely. His time on this board as mod and average poster should be proof of that.

Actually, I'm coming down on a specific side of this debate because of the behavior of certain people.

Look at what you just posted -- "not supported by historical evidence" -- and tell me that's not DRIPPING with condescension...

my bad then... i didn't expect them to do a load of work

i thought all polls had a "public" option so they could tell who did what

and most mods seem to know the dupe users by name already without any IP work.

Actually, if you were to follow the thread from the beginning, Phil's "goal" was to get it down to 4 sub-forums at the top of the page.

The planet store has been "linked" leaving 4 sub-forums at the top of the Lounge.

So the results of the poll are at this point moot. There's no reason to move DC, because there are no longer 5 sub-forums in the Lounge.

The public option is available if chosen by the person who starts the poll, and it enables everyone to view who voted for what.

If you will go back to around 300 you will find a post where Stevieray accuses Phil of not following the majority community opinion. there are a series of back and forths involving Stevie, Phil, Endo and Phil. that post 362 culminates. So I am pretty sure based on that and the PM I got from Phil last night that he will still delete it. He according to the PM is looking into my idea of being able to subscribe to which subforums you want to view at the top of the the Lounge but and has not deleted anything except to move the store to a button.

Whoaa!

I'm not questioning his character or his integrity. You are going overboard.

I'm only questioning his argument against my argument. I admire his objectivity but in this particular case he isn't taking into account the recorded posterity of the DC forum.

Please don't put words in my mouth or assign motives to my words.
