Played a terrible offensive team. Still played pretty good though.

Lol... I guess the other 31 teams play very good offenses every week... so we should not care about stats...

We're giving up about 3.9 ypc. That's good but not good enough. We're about 15th in the league.

Yep, if a good runnining team wanted to run right at us they probably could.

Yea I guess... since we havent allowed a 100 yard rusher this season after facing:

Curtis Martin
L. Jordan, (twice)
W. Mc-gay-he
LT
C. Portis
Miami's Duo
D. Davis
Denver Trio

The only team that ran us over was Denver... I dont think anyone can run over us...

Hello reality, where are you reality?

Seriously you guys need to quit being so damned caught up on stats. With the exception of the Denver game nobody has had a lot of success running on us and we've faced same damned good backs.
The bottom line is our run defense is good right now. If I had to make a list of 5 NFL teams I wouldn't want to be trying to run the ball against KC would have a good shot at making the list.

One possible cause for this is that the weakness of the KC DBs causes teams to game plan the pass.
The one team (Denver) that game planned to commit to the run against KC ran all over the Chiefs.

Or do they throw because they can't run?
I'm pretty sure guys like Portis, Tomlinson and Martin didn't set out to be stuffed at the line of scrimmage every time they touched the ball.
You're not going to give me any what-ifs or stats that tell me our run D hasn't been pretty good, I've SEEN it with my own two eyes all year.

Compared to what you are used to seeing they probably do look pretty good. I only take issue with your statement that KC is a Top 5 run defense; that is simply not supported by the facts.

What?

Where did you get that out of what I said?

This team is good at stopping the run. If teams lined up and tried to run at us all day, they'd more than likely lose, because we're not gonna allow people to run all over us.

However, for us to be a playoff contender, we need to improve even more.

You gotta like what Gun has done against the run. And if he can get into the top 20 vs. the pass (with Warfield & Surtain both in the line-up) by the end of the year.....you'd have to say he's done pretty well.
