Raiders sign Bronco lineman Cooper Carlisle

Oakland is doing the copy-cat.... we sucked so bad last season that we're trying to copy the Broncos. We signed the Stretch-n-Cut gurus from Atlanta, OC Greg Knapp & O-line coach Tom Cable. We got their fullback Justin Griffith. Ankle-diving center Jeremy Newberry from SF. Knee-hunters Cooper Carlisle & Cornell Green from Denver. The new coaches are teaching to dive at a knee, roll up on an ankle, legwhip a shin. They're actually having Andrew Walter practice rolling out (yeah, right). We lost so many games recently playing football... we're gonna try it the Bronco way instead.

I think the league ought to outlaw cut blocking, but it looks like they don't particularly care about DL health. They'd rather focus on a Denver back making a cut toward the EZ than the opponent rolling on the ground. It's a better TV moment.

Too bad Oakland doesn't have a back that can take advantage of the tactic. They'll just be injuring DL guys without the payoff of highights.

It scares the hell out of me that the Raiders are doing this.

Not because I think it might make them better or even beat the Chiefs, but because it gives me visions of one of those guys ending Tamba Hali's career in one, dirty play.

I imagine come Faider week at Arrowhead, the first time a Faider tries to take out one of the Chiefs' knee's -- there won't be anyone left to play the game except the cheerleaders...
