Which do you prefer to use?

...Cash, Check / Money order, Plastic? I'm just curious as to what forms of payment folks like to use most in commerce.

Poll forthcoming.

Myself I prefer cash.

I pay for most everything with my American Express Rewards card. Since you have to pay it off every month, there's no big, nasty revolving debt building up, plus I earn points.

I like to keep $40.00 - $50.00 cash in my pocket for small items. Other than that I use credit cards. My wife and I each have a personal cc and we have a shared card for big stuff.

I use my debit pretty much exclusively with a very few bills done by checks. I actually feel horrible for all the spare changers and Salvation Army types these days, because I never, ever have cash. It also is horrible whenever you're out with a group of people and they say something like, "Everyone just chip in five bucks," because I never have cash on me.

Hey I know you. You owe me $20.00 for the stripper we all chipped in on.

I always keep cash on me - mainly lunch money for when I'm downtown. I never have less than $20 or $30 in cash at all times. You just never know when you might need it.

I, too, prefer my debit card. I do usually carry $10-15 in various bills on me in case of such occasions as you listed, though. Sometimes they're in there for awhile.

I have no idea what you're talking about. We still use chickens and pies as currency here in Omaha.

I normally pay off any credit card I use each month. I bet I haven't paid an interest charge ever. I may have to look into the AE Rewards card. I have a business card but I don't use it much.

I use debit cards for day to day purchases and pay most bills on line. I rarely have more than a few dollars in cash in my pocket, often I have none. When I do have cash I tend to spend it very freely, like it is Monopoly money.

I really like mine. I generally save up the points and use them to pay most of my rental car expenses when I go on vacation. There are all sorts of items available for redemption.
