Surely you must be talking about the more pansied soccer "football" in JoCo.
You'd have to come to the Missouri side to get in a rougher sport than said "football". The games are usually played at the park off of I435 & Holmes/103rd str. Tony Richardson's son used to play in the league. If you want I can possibly get some contact information together for you as I used to do some football camps for the young'ns. Ever thought about moving away from the pansy area? Come to the Darkside. Luke I am your fartha. |

JoCo football? I think they pay the KCK kids to play for them.

I went to several Raytown Youth football games, and they play at a pretty good level. They are a little rough around the edges, with the coaches cursing at the kids and unedited gangsta rap playing over the loud speakers during half time, but they played pretty well. The problem with youth sports is that most of the time the coaches don't know what they are doing. They are just some Dads that volunteer and don't have to have any qualifications. The Parks and Rec department gives them no drills, no tips, nothing at all besides a rule book and equipment. That isn't a knock on parent coaches because I am one and I spent about 25 hours initially, and another hour a week on top of practice and games just staying preparded for a 5/6 year old T-ball league. Not all coaches do that, and the kids that are playing for them suffer as a result. Pop Warner not only screens their coaches, they give them assistance with coaching the team. It is a little higher price wise, but I think it is worth it. My son played recreation NFL flag football last year, and I am thinking about getting him into Pop Warner this year. At 7 he is a little young but he would be able to play Tiny-Mite. If he waited until next year he would be with the 7,8,9 year olds up to 90 pounds, so I may break him in now. http://www.kansascitypopwarner.com/ |
