My grade of our first day: C+

I love the Chiefs, but I hated what we did our first day.

You can't criticize us in terms of value or talent -- we ended up with three of the most talented players from this weekend altogether. Dorsey was a brilliant pick, and probably the best possible option we could have had.

But Albert is completely unproven at tackle. Guard is an awful position to Draft nonetheless. Giving up two picks for him seemed like a disasterous decision. Flowers is incredibly talented but he's got so many character concerns my brain is exploding.

Here's hoping we continue drafting talented players. But here's hoping we avoid some of the sloppy decisioin making from an absolutely zany day one.

Otah would have been a fine RT later on. If we drafted him early to put him in at LT, I would puke.

So not only did you "not have faith" in the previous offensive regime, with absolutely no proof, you have no faith in Chan Gailey and his offensive assistants?

WTF dude? Are you just Mr. Negative or what?

We get a starting LT, who some think is the best LT prospect in the draft-we only give up a 5th rounder and some aren't happy? Watch the tape and then tell me how bad the pick is-the guy is ****ing phenomenal and has tremendous upside.

How much later? 30 picks?

He went 4 picks after the Chiefs selected Albert.

That's certainly not "later on".

The Chiefs made the right move, yet people still complain.

I guess some people feel the need to bitch, just to bitch.

I don't think that's the case here.

Direckshun is on record, a month or more, ago, that he didn't like the idea of drafting Albert in the first round.

He's stuck to that opinion until now.

The fact that he's sticking to his opinion is fine with me.

He's one person who has the right to complain on this, cause he's been consistent in that opinion.

As far as our #35, I really like Flowers on the field, but we just traded a guy away because of drug abuse, and here we are drafting a guy who poses to be a drug dealer on Facebook, during Draft season.

We can find good Cover 2 corners later in the Draft, a 2nd was unnecessary. Especially when Groves and Hardy were still on the board.

JMO.
He would not have been there at 17. Philly was trading up to 16 had we not jumped.

Jeeze, you would think KC lost value in the trade with Detroit.

They lost the fifth rounder they got for Trent Green. BFD!

Hey if the guy is a franchise LT, I have no right to complain.

But just imagine if he turns out to be a guard. Pro Guard or not, I don't know if I take him in the 1st -- much less give up a pick for him. Especially if that pick is a fifth, where you can normally find a solid starting guard anyway.

Guards are kind of important, too, so you end up with a very low risk pick with an insanely high ceiling. I do not understand how you can complain about this pick when the other options were Otah or ****in' Cherilus.

I would have preferred Otah at #17 than sacrificing a 5th and trading 3rds to get Albert at #15.

Otah isn't exactly a lock.....I know some scouts question his feet and think he'll eventually end up as a guard.

And what a massive sacrifice it was! Hanging on in the hopes of finding a lucky gem is way better than getting a guaranteed starting-caliber guard who could be an elite LT.

I give up a 5th for a Pro Bowl Guard any day. Will he be a Pro Bowl Guard? dunno. will he be our starting LT? dunno. But he's a great OLine talent, and is ready to start day 1, don't know that otah is ready to start at all.
