Only two years too late. I'm sure nintendo has lost some sales because of lack of availability.

We just got one for my son's 7th birthday which is coming up this weekend. PITA to find one. We were calling all over the place, etc. Asking when trucks came in -- what's the best day/time to call, etc.
We eventually found one and had my Sister-in-law run over there after work at 3 (she was leaving early that day for some reason) as it was near where she was, as we didn't wnat to take the chance that it wouldn't be there by the time we got there at 6 or 7 or whatever. Ridiculous.

They told my wife and I at Target that it would be weeks before we'd be able to get one. We went to the Gamestop next door and promptly bought a new one that they had in stock. I don't buy the unavailability myth.

As I said in the other thread, Blockbuster is also selling them. And I don't think many people realize this yet.

My fiancee's grandma wants to spend approx. $200 on her for a wedding shower gift and asked her what she most wanted off our registry. I'm trying to talk her in to thinking outside the box and snagging a Wii. With the release of Mario Kart she's actually thinking about it as it's the only video game she ever enjoyed playing.
