Gunther will fix the defense now...

Just be patient.

http://chiefsblog.kansascity.com/?q=node/346

Gunther moving downstairs?

Gunther Cunningham would like to call the defensive signals from the sidelines for the season's final 11 games. Cunningham, the defensive coordinator, has been working in the press box on game day.

Cunningham said it would help the Chiefs make adjustments if he was stationed on the sideline.

"We're trying to think of anything we can to put the players in the best position to make plays," he said.

His plan needs the approval of head coach Herm Edwards but Cunningham could be on the sideline for the Oct. 19 game against Tennessee at Arrowhead Stadium.

If they need a giant asshole to yell at them, can't they just get Krumrie to do it? It's not like he knows what he's talking about when he coaches the Dline. Random assortment of words just might work.

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE! GET YOUR ASS DOWN! MOVE! PULL! UP! SIT! FETCH! DAMN IT, TANK, GET YOUR ASS BACK IN LINE!

Krumrie is even more worthless than Gunther. I don't care how cool he sounds when he yells.

The worst was hearing Grunhard on the radio this week on Petro's show, breaking down how pathetic our D-line is. Basically pointed out that they are all lacking a second move. Something like that evades my eye when I watch a game, but he seems to see it clearly. Pointed it out as a sign that the defensive coaches really don't know what they are doing at all in developing D-linemen, which helps explain why we burn through so many 1st round picks.

Wouldn't he see better from the press box? How does this fix it? Is he going to be out there whiffing on tackles on 3rd and long? Or is his presence going to keep guys from whiffing?

heh. I bet I am the last Gunther fan in the KC fanbase.

Q- What is the difference between Gunther and every other coach on the KC staff?
A- Gunther will still be able to find a job in the NFL after his time with the Chiefs is done.

As bad as Gunther is, you're right.

If he wants to work, he'll have a job.
