Literature- I need your help!

Dammit, I'm taking a literature class and there is a question that I need help with.

Identify the work from which each passage is taken and its author, and describe the significance of the passage in relation to the work's meaning:

5. Boom Down

Yes, that's it. That's all it says...... And it covers the entire book, unfortunately I did not read every story and cannot find the two word passage. I don't need the meaning...just the story/poem that it is in.

I appreciate your help in advance.

And as usual... Have a beer on me

Wow!!! I saw that movie - I had no idea those two were the same person. I almost washed my eyes out with bleach when her and the other girl had the lesbian scene.

She was sexy in Devil's Advocate. That's scary shit there.

I'm exhausted and am going to shamefully post this in the morbid hope that someone has these answers on hand(and are not already published).... I'm beginning to think that a Bachelors Degree is gonna be tougher than the friggen ass. degree.(duh)... purple nurples to all!

PART I: (30 Points) PASSAGE IDENTIFICATION

Identify the work from which each passage is taken and its author, and describe
the significance of the passage in relation to the work's meaning:

1. She would of been a good woman . . . if it had been somebody there to shoot
her every minute of her life.
Flannery O’Connor (A Good Man is Hard to Find)

2. Be it so, if you will: but alas! It was a dream of evil omen…
Young Goodman Brown by Nathaniel Hawthorne

3. Although the villagers had forgotten the ritual and lost the original black
box, they still remembered to use stones.
The Lottery, Shirley Jackson
This

4. Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out.
Robert Frost, Mending Wall

5. Boom. Down.
The things they carried. Tim O’Brien

6. How terrible – to see the truth
When the truth is only pain to him who sees!
Oedipus, Sophocles

PART II (20 points): SHORT ANSWER 1:

Drawing from one of the short stories(see above) you read for this class, discuss how the author uses symbolism. You should focus on no more than two scenes that clearly
show how the symbolism helps make the story more effective. Your answer should
be no longer than two paragraphs.

PART III (20 points) SHORT ANSWER 2:

The following short poem by e. e. cummings deals with a very common human
experience. Read the poem carefully and briefly explain what cummings is saying
to us. Try to include in your explanation the poetic devises cummings uses to
achieve his effect. Your response should be no more than two paragraphs.

#10 (e.e.cummings)

maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach (to play one day)

and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn't remember her troubles, and

milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;

and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles, and

may came home with smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea.

Heh, what's your major? This is the kind of work you do drinking a beer waiting for your turn in the Madden or NHL Playstation Tournament.

I'm guessing distrusted algorithms aren't in your future.
