I think Tom Brandstater of Fresno St. is a Pioli type of pick as a mid to late rd qb prospect. Just from his size 6'4 or bigger 225# or so. Doesn't hurt Pat Hill is the HC, a former BB assistant.

We have our late-round QB prospect with the tools who just needs some time in the NFL to adjust. His name is Brodie Croyle, his strength can be improved so his durability can be improved. I remember reading a quote from a scout saying they don't worry about strength because they can fix it later on.

What's not to like? The guy has the heart of a lion and motor like a Lambourghini. He's a one-man wrecking machine with a nose for the ball. He's great in pass coverage and rushing the QB. Here's a little highlight of him. For a 2nd day pick, the guy will make some team very happy.

Yup. He was hella-impressive in the first game because Northwest's defense couldn't pressure him. The playoff game was a different story; the young defense had matured a lot over the course of the season.

Ultimately, though, Malone had a WR that could be a 6th or 7th round pick in Johnny Knox. AND he had RB Bernard Scott, a freak of nature at the D2 level, and a probable 5th round draft pick.

He never struck me as "great in pass coverage" when I watched him play. The first thing I thought was he's kinda stiff and a guy who works hard but isn't very naturally athletic. He was really shitty at changing direction and I just didn't see much in coverage just the lack of fluid hips and change of direction.

He struck me as a guy who tackled well and so badly wanted to get a big hit that he was over aggressive. I just don't see a whole lot of upside either because he's a guy who is physically maxed out and has more or less worked into what he as as opposed to be a top notch athlete.

I think he'll be a good special teams player but I don't think he's athletic enough to be a good starter on the NFL level, like Scott McKilop same kinda deal.
