Who has still been collecting state quarters?

I just discovered one of those books you can buy to collect all the quarters. I had the 1999 series filled and Massachusetts and Vermont, or something like that. Completely forgot about my collection.

How many of you have started at the beginning of the series and have kept going?

I completely forgot about this thread. Similar to my quarter collection.

Now when I get a shiney new quarter, I don't even turn it over and wonder, "Oooo... perhaps this is a brand new one!" I guess that's what happens when you make these things last 10 friggin years just to collect 50 easy-to-find coins. It's not really much of a collection. It's kind of lame, actually.

I filled my Phil Mint book and have like 3 blanks in my Denver mint book. Totally hacked me off when I saw DC, since there wasn't a slot for it in my books.

I bought the US mint sets for 10 years so I have all of the state quarters in mint condition. I have absolutely no interest in Guam, Puerto Rico or any other country however. They're not real valuable but I think they make an interesting collection.

I have almost a complete book now, the problem is that the book I have didn't include a space for Puerto Rico or D.C. and I have coins for them now.

Us too. We collected two books work and had them filled when I spotted a shiny new quarter I hadn't seen. It was either PR or DC, can't remember which but my first response was WTF? because my books don't handle them.

I can at least make an argument for 2 of the 3 but D & D is a gay-ron-TEED poon deterrent...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yeah we collected the states for the kids and grandkids. Right at the end they announced they would be doing them for territories/etc. We said enough of that crap.

Apparently this is old news, nothing to see here.

I like the presidential coins better and even then without the silver content, it doesn't do much for me.

Seems like my wife's grandmother gave us a starter set of these years ago, but we ended up using them for laundry before we moved to the suburbs.

I amass a large quantity of them and then when the cashier asks for like $20.78 I hand her a $20, 3 quarters and three pennies. Sometimes I hand her a nickel in lieu of the three pennies, like when I only have two pennies or something like that.
